 Job Title Composition/Comparative Literature - Full-Service Faculty Position
 Department English & Humanities
Position Description

The Department of English and Humanities is accepting applications for a continuing contract (tenure-track) faculty position, beginning Fall 2012 (pending available funding). Primary duties include teaching composition courses, World Literature, Western and Non-Western Civilization and Literature courses.  Standard teaching load is 12 hours per semester with additional responsibilities to include student advising, committee service, and participation in departmental activities.

Position Qualifications

PhD (Assistant Professor) or ABD (Senior Instructor) in English or related field required by August 1, 2012.  Required:  Three years of college teaching experience, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and credentials and teaching experience in composition and Anglophone literature, literature of Americas, or comparative literature.  Desirable:  Teaching experience in an interdisciplinary field (such as history and literature) and fluency and teaching experience in a foreign language.  Teaching introductory foreign language courses is a possibility.
