The Department of Natural Sciences at Shawnee State University invites applications for a continuing contract (tenure-track) position in Physics at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2012.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Physical Science, or a related area and should have a strong interest in undergraduate teaching and the desire to involve undergraduate students in research.  Teaching duties may include introductory physics courses at the algebra and calculus-based levels, upper-division physics, astronomy, a scientific reasoning and methodology course, physical science for elementary education majors, and other courses as needed.  Other duties include institutional, departmental, and community curriculum development.
