Graduate Student Admission
What kind of student are you? At Shawnee State University, we offer different admission options depending on your needs. Prospective students may choose Regular Program Admission, Non-Degree Admission, Graduate Workshop Credit (Special) Admission, or Transient Admission.
Regular Student Program Admission
Students who seek a regular master’s degree program should apply for admission with their program of choice. Application for Graduate Admission
Non-Degree Student Admission
Students who wish to complete regular graduate courses to earn credit but who do not seek full admission to a graduate program should apply for Non-Degree Admission. These students will complete the regular Application for Admission and submit the application fee to the Graduate Center. Click on this link to access the application forms for this admission status.
Application for Graduate Admission
Graduate Workshop Credit (Special) Student Admission
Students who hold a bachelor’s degree and wish to earn graduate workshop credit through approved professional development opportunities may do so by completing the application form available from the workshop provider and submitting it as directed. While there is no separate application fee for submitting this application, the Workshop Credit (Special) fees are due at the time the form is submitted and are non-refundable. Credit will be awarded upon successful completion of the credit requirements as stated by the workshop faculty. Click on this link to access the application forms for this admission status.
Transient Student Admission
Students who wish to complete a course and are enrolled in a program at another university may be granted transient status by the Graduate Center. The Permission for Transient Status form must be completed and signed by the graduate school dean or equivalent at your home institution. The form must be submitted to the Graduate Center for approval by the appropriate program area and Director of the Graduate Center prior to registration for any Shawnee State University courses. A form and fee must be submitted for each semester you desire to register for graduate courses at SSU as a transient student.
