Bioinformatics Scholarships

Bioinformatics involves the use of high performance computing to analyze massive amounts of biological and medical data.

 Eligibility Criteria

 All Students:

  • Must be Ohio residents
  • Intend to pursue a career in Bioinformatics
  • Write an essay indicating how they intend to use their education to pursue a career in Bioinformatics

Incoming Freshman:

  • High school class rank in the upper 20% of his/her graduating class OR have a minimum ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1150

Returning/Transfer Students:

  • Mathematics, Science, or Computer Engineering Technology majors
  • 3.0 GPA or higher in his/her major field of study

The scholarship is valued at $4,700 for the academic year. It is for tuition only.

This scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years for students who continue to make progress toward their Mathematics/Science/Engineering Technology degree and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA in their major field of study.

Students can apply for the 2009-2010 academic year by competing the application and submitting it along with the essay to the Financial Aid Office by August 1, 2009.
