AEP Gives Grant to Technology Initiative

The grant will be given over five years. SSU President Rita Rice Morris said she is grateful to AEP for helping the University take this next step in the area’s growth. “The motion capture facility is part of our vision of a high-tech future for southern Ohio. I would like to thank AEP for helping us realize our vision through this generous gift to Shawnee State.” Kevin Walker, president and CEO of AEP Ohio said he was pleased to be able to make this contribution to SSU on behalf of the AEP Foundation. “With this funding, students will have the opportunity to employ several technologies for creating interactive, virtual environments that simulate real-life experience.” Frank Waller, general co-chair of Poised for Tomorrow, said ITAC represents promise for SSU students and the entire region. “ITAC will give students hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and it will be an engine for economic development by attracting high-tech companies to southern Ohio.” |
