Shawnee State University Presents Fifth Annual Constitution Day Lecture

In the photo, Dr. Clifford Poirot, associate professor of Economics, Department of Social Sciences, presents the Fifth Annual Constitution Day Lecture on Thursday, Sept. 17 in the new Sodexo Ballroom at Shawnee State University. His presentation was “Free Speech and Academic Freedom in Education: Ideals in Peril.” Constitution Day or Citizenship Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the ratification of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. The U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution on Sept. 17 in 1787.
