University Presents Fifth Annual Constitution Day Lecture
In the photo, Dr. Clifford Poirot, associate professor of
Economics, Department of Social Sciences, presents the Fifth
Annual Constitution Day Lecture on Thursday, Sept. 17 in the
new Sodexo Ballroom at Shawnee State University. His
presentation was “Free Speech and Academic Freedom in
Education: Ideals in Peril.” Constitution Day or Citizenship
Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the
ratification of the United States Constitution and those who
have become U.S. citizens. The U.S. Constitutional
Convention signed the Constitution on Sept. 17 in 1787.
