     Shawnee State University and Shawnee Education Association (SEA), the association which represents the faculty of Shawnee State University, have signed a tentative 3-year contract agreement.

     The tentative agreement is now being reviewed by all faculty members who will vote on the agreement in mid-August.

     The tentative agreement is the result of a collaborative effort to contain costs in the current economic environment, while advancing the institution, planning for future growth in areas such as distance learning and graduate programs, attracting and keeping quality faculty, and maintaining quality programs for students.

     Both Shawnee State and SEA are dedicated to meeting the challenges that face higher education in today’s economy, ensuring that students receive a high quality education.
