Sarah Lowe named AmeriCorps/VISTA community
and collaboration leader
(Lowe brings in new community involvement ideas
to Shawnee State University as the new
AmeriCorps/VISTA community and collaboration
leader)
Sarah Lowe, from Caldwell, Ohio, has been named
AmeriCorps/VISTA community and collaboration
leader at Shawnee State University.
Lowe will be
in charge of coordinating community service
activities and community involvement with SSU,
such as Operation Christmas Child and Hands to
Hearts.
“A new
project that I definitely want to do at SSU is
an all-day music festival to raise awareness of
different issues within the community,” Lowe
said. “At the University of Dayton, I did a
similar thing and brought attention to suicide
rating issues and mental health issues.”
Lowe earned a
bachelor’s degree in general studies with
concentrations in social justice and religion
from the University of Dayton.
Her main goal is to become involved as much as
possible with students and become a part of the
campus community.
