Arthur D. Lynn Family Scholarship awarded to Gideon
Bankhead at Shawnee State University
The Shawnee State University Scholarship Committee has
awarded Gideon Bankhead the 2008-2009 Arthur D. Lynn
Family Scholarship of $1,300.
Applicants of this scholarship must be a member of the
SSU Honors program, a graduate of Portsmouth High School
and be pursuing a degree in business administration or
economics.
Bankhead, son of Steve and Carol Bankhead, is a 2006
graduate of A Beka Academy and a returning SSU student.
He was a member of the Conservative Club and graduated
with honors in high school. Bankhead has placed on the
SSU Dean’s List four times and is a member of the SSU
Honors program. He is an accounting major and hopes to
open his own accounting firm after graduating from SSU.
The funds of this scholarship are administered by the
SSU Development Foundation. Individuals or organizations
