            The Shawnee State University Alumni Association is seeking nominations for two annual awards that will be presented to outstanding alumni this year.
            The Distinguished Alumnus Award is presented to an alumnus or alumna who has demonstrated exemplary performance in his or her profession and has made outstanding contributions to his or her community. This is the highest honor presented by the Alumni Association.
            The Alumni Service Award is presented to an alumnus or alumna in recognition of his or her volunteer service and contributions to Shawnee State University and/or the Alumni Association.
            The SSU Alumni Association is seeking nominations for both of these awards that will be presented at the Alumni and Scholarship Awards Reception on Oct. 23.
            To nominate an SSU alumnus or alumna for either of these awards, send an e-mail with the person's name, contact information and a brief explanation as to why they should be considered for the award to ahenderson@shawnee.edu. Nominations also may be mailed to SSU Alumni Association, 940 Second Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, July 3.
