Shawnee State University donates toys for
children in the community
Members of the Shawnee State University Community
donated toys for children at the 14th Street Community
Center and Stepping Stones House for Christmas. Coordinating
the toy drive were Kelly Hatas, AmeriCorps/VISTA leader,
Mistie Spicer, assistant to the president, and Sarah Lowe,
AmeriCorps/VISTA leader. The toys were presented to more
than 100 children who arrived at the 14th Street Community
Center to meet about 75 SSU students on Saturday, Dec. 5 for
a day of playing with crafts, games, decorating cookies and
receiving the gifts. Students also bought individual gifts
for the children.
