University faculty and staff present program on trip to
Rwanda
Shannon Lawson, assistant professor of English and
Humanities, and students from her special topics course,
African Literature, traveled to Rwanda this summer for 10
days as part of the summer session class. Lawson, along with
Teacher Education Professor Xiaodan Huang, Library Associate
Director Ann Marie Short and English and Humanities
secretary Elsie Shabazz presented a program featuring
highlights of the trip, photos and some of the original arts
and crafts they purchased on Wednesday, Dec. 2 in the Clark
Memorial Library alcove. In the photo, Lawson is showing a
necklace with beads made entirely with paper. She is also
wearing a tunic made from fabric she purchased while on the
trip.
