Shawnee State University Fall Commencement Scheduled

The third annual fall commencement will take place at Shawnee State University at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16 at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. Although 215 students will be graduating, 173 students will be participating in the ceremony.

All family members and guests, including small children, must have a ticket to attend commencement. Each graduate will receive up to six free tickets for general seating. If any tickets are left, the university community – faculty, staff, non-graduating students and those graduating who would like extra tickets – and the general public are eligible to receive up to two tickets while supplies last.

If extra tickets are available after distribution week, the university community (faculty, staff, non-graduating students), graduating students who would like extra tickets and the general public are eligible to receive up to two tickets while supplies last. These tickets may be picked up 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday, Dec. 5 to Friday, Dec. 9 in Massie Hall, Room 103. The tickets will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

This year 23 master's degrees, 96 bachelor's degrees and 96 associate degrees will be awarded.
