Shawnee State University’s AmeriCorps/VISTA staff demonstrates making salsa
Shawnee State University’s Kelly Hatas and Sarah Lowe of
AmeriCorps VISTA Ohio Campus Compact demonstrated making and
canning salsa on Thursday, Dec. 19 at All Saints Episcopal
Church in Portsmouth from peppers raised in “God’s Gardens.”
The gardens both on the riverbank and at All Saints were
very plentiful this year. The event was sponsored by the
Scioto Christian Ministry Garden Committee to utilize bell
and banana peppers as well as several different kinds of
chiles raised in the gardens. In the photo, SSU student
