Shawnee State University Recognizes Veterans

Shawnee State University held its annual Veteran's Recognition Day on Thursday, Nov. 8 on the University Center North Lawn.

SSU President Rita Rice Morris gave the welcome address and veteran Sam McKibben acted as Master of Ceremonies.

The American Legion Post 363 presented the colors and Mariah Ginn, a student at SSU, sang the "National Anthem" and "America the Beautiful."

Dr. Terry Johnson, retired Ohio Army National Guard, presented the keynote address and Rev. Evan Fisher led the prayer and a moment of silence.

A U.S. historical flags display, military weapons displays, SSU veteran's wall, WWII display, Civil War display, and several veteran's organizations and services were set up in both lobbies of the University Center.
