Spriggs Family Scholarship Honors Public Service

Firefighters and law enforcement officers are among our nation's bravest heroes. Their dedication to peace and order maintain our safety and provide for the common good.

To honor their selflessness, and in particular, the men and women who serve in Scioto County, Guy Spriggs and family established the Spriggs Family Scholarship for the children of Scioto County public servants to help ease the cost of higher education.

Recipients of The Spriggs Family Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year are as follows:

  • Kayla Conway of Lucasville, Ohio
  • Matthew McGraw-Young of Lucasville, Ohio
  • Andrew Scherer of Portsmouth, Ohio
  • Michelle Staley of Wheelersburg, Ohio
  • Katie Williams of New Boston, Ohio
