Shawnee State University has trained 10 students to help students, faculty, staff and visitors from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. The new Safety Patrol was trained in all the security policies, self defense, blood-borne pathogens and fire safety techniques. Lisa Rhoden taught the blood-borne pathogens class, Mike Price taught the self defense class and Russ Jett, of Jett Fire Equipment, taught the Safety Patrol how to use a fire extinguisher and fire safety tips.
