Local author needs women to interview for new book

Sep. 27, 2011

Author Monique Diderich, Ph.D., assistant professor of Sociology at Shawnee State University, is working on a new book about women in southern Ohio and Eastern Kentucky.

She is looking for women ages 65 and older to volunteer for her research that begins in mid-October. Her co-author, Veronica Manlow will be joining her in the research.

"I'll be asking about their views on society and their oral life history," Diderich said. "Also, I'd like to know about their hopes and dreams for their grandchildren."

Her last book, "Sibling Relationships in Step-Families" was published in 2008 and included her research on the sociological study of stepfamilies.

To participate in the research or for more information, call Sandi Delabar at (740) 351-3234.
