Music Student Presents Composition at
Celebration of Scholarship
James Huang, senior instructor in the Department of
Industrial and Engineering Technologies and music student at
Shawnee State University, presents his composition, “The
Chorus of Seashell Reverie” at the Celebration of
Scholarship at the university in April. Huang is a student
of Dr. Michael Barnhart, assistant professor at SSU’s
Department of Fine, Digital and Performing Arts. Huang
composed and arranged the reverie in memory of Michael
Jackson, who passed away in July 2009. This song of life
uses the seashells in the sea to illustrate the nature of
life.
