Eighth Edition Release Party

Apr. 26, 2011

Award-winning poet Stacey Waite was a big hit at the eighth annual Tapestries Release Party on Wednesday, April 20 at Shawnee State University. She passionately recited poetry from her three collections, "Choke," a winner of the 2005 Frank O'Hara Chapbook Prize from Thorngate Road Press, "Love Poem to Androgyny," winner of the 2008 Main Street Rag Press Chapbook Prize, and "The Lake Has No Saint," winner of the 2008 Tupelo Press Snowbound Chapbook Competition.

Her first full-length poetry collection, "Butch Geography," will be released in 2012 from Tupelo Press. Waite is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pittsburgh and teaches various writing and gender studies courses.

Several writers whose work appears in the new Tapestries edition also recited their work at the release party.
