Shawnee State University Students Going to Germany to Study
Two students from Shawnee State University will be traveling
as exchange students to Ludwigsburg University in Germany.
Ken Shonkwiler, of
Greenfield, Ohio, son of John and Julie Shonkwiler of
Greenfield, is anxious to learn the German language.
Shonkwiler, a history major and geography minor, is planning
to go to graduate school after he gets his bachelor’s degree
to teach at a college level.
“I’m shipping my
bike over to ride and see the sites,” he said. “My dad
travels a lot and both my parents are excited for me to go.”
He will be
starting a photo blog of his travels.
Jowitt, of Chillicothe, daughter of Michael Jowitt, of
Marysville, and Cheryl McLaughlin, of Chillicothe, is
majoring in international relations with an economics minor.
“I went to London
and that was really amazing and I just wanted to spend more
time in Europe,” Jowitt said. “My parents are happy that I
have this opportunity.”
