Wet-on-Wet Oil Painting Classes Offered at Shawnee
State University
A wet-on-wet oil painting course is being offered at Shawnee
State University from 6 to 9 p.m. on each Tuesday from May 4
through May 25 in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, Room
303.
The wet-on-wet painting technique is when the painter paints
layers over already applied wet paint. It is a fast process
because the painter must paint all of the layers before any
of the paint dries.
The technique for wet-on-wet usually includes wet-n-wet,
color wash, splatter, scratching, sponging, and bleeding.
This course is for both experienced and inexperienced
painters. Participants must purchase their own supplies.
Supplies needed for this course can be purchased at Toy Town
or Hobby Lobby. The tuition fee for the class is $69.
Toy Town will be offering a 10% discount on the supplies for
any SSU student and 40% discount coupons are available at
Hobby Lobby’s Web site at
www.hobbylobby.com.
For more information or to register for this course, contact
University Outreach Services at (740) 351-3274.
