Kick off Shawnee State University's 25th Anniversary Celebration with food, games, entertainment and several give-aways at the SSU Birthday Bash on Friday, April 8 in the Sodexo Ballroom and in the University Center lobbies.
"This is a significant milestone for us – and for our community," Dr. Rita Rice Morris, SSU president, said. "Shawnee State University exists because of the support we received from our community. We hope everyone will come help us celebrate where we have been, and more importantly, where we are headed as an institution."
Join faculty, staff, students, the community and Shawn E. Bear for the festivities that begin at 11 a.m. with WNXT Radio playing 80s music at a live remote. Karaoke will be set up for party goers to try their singing skills. A photo booth will be available for everyone to get a memento of the day.
Besides lunch with hot dogs and hamburgers, a special Candy Bar will offer sweet treats. Popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones will also be available.
At noon, Portsmouth Mayor David Malone will present SSU's President Rita Rice Morris with a Birthday Proclamation.
Shawnee State University's 25th anniversary celebration includes a number of events throughout the year. A complete calendar of events is available at www.shawnee.edu/25.
