The Shawnee State University Theater Department will present a classic Neil Simon comedy, "Plaza Suite" for its annual Valentine Dinner Theater performance.
"Plaza Suite" centers on Suite 719 in New York City's Plaza Hotel, and three sets of guests who pass through it.
Hilarity abounds in this portrait of three couples at different times in a suite at the Plaza Hotel. The first act introduces an unhappy couple revisiting their honeymoon suite in an attempt to revive their marriage.
The second act features a movie producer and his old flame chatting, both of them with different intentions for their rendezvous.
Finally, the third act revolves around a married couple attempting to console their daughter, who has locked herself in the suite bathroom on her wedding day.
The Valentine Dinner Theater Performance will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14, with dinner being served at 6 p.m. in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts Howland Recital Hall with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Kahl Studio Theater. Advanced reservations required and limited seating available for the Valentine's dinner theater.
Regular performances will be held Friday, Feb. 15 and Saturday, Feb.16 and again Thursday, Feb. 21 through Saturday Feb. 23 in the Kahl Studio Theater at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 per person for the dinner theater combo, $10 at regular price for the show only, $8 for seniors and SSU faculty/staff and $3 for SSU students with a valid ID. For more information, call the McKinley Box Office at 740-351-3600.
