Who: Thomas E. Gouttierre, Ph.D., dean of International Studies and Programs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and director of the Center for Afghanistan studies at UNO, and John Lorentz, Ph.D., director of Center for International Programs and Activities, Shawnee State University (SSU), and professor of history.

What: Press conference

Why: Gouttierre is known as the foremost expert on Afghanistan. Lorentz, who has resided in the Middle East for five years, has worked as a consultant on Middle East affairs and as Executive Director of American Aid for Afghans in the 1980s.
