news directors, editors, producers, and reporters: What: Ribbon cutting ceremony and open house for the newly constructed Campus View residence halls at Shawnee State University Where: 304 Sinton St., Portsmouth, Ohio (located on Third Street) When: Friday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m. (ribbon cutting ceremony) and open house from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Who: Individuals attending the event will include SSU President Rita Rice Morris, Portsmouth Mayor Greg Bauer, real estate developer Neal Hatcher, SSU students who live in Campus View, other city and university officials, and other members of the community. Synopsis: Two newly constructed Campus View residence halls are ready for fall quarter. Owned by real estate developer Neal Hatcher and managed by Shawnee State University, the new facilities house 48 students each, totaling 96 additional SSU students who will be housed there. The partnership between SSU and Neal Hatcher, along with the city of Portsmouth, began with the construction of two Campus View apartment buildings built in 2000. The housing features two and four bedroom apartments with two full baths, living room, dining area, and kitchen that accommodate four students.
