PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT Contact: SSU to Host Annual
Halloween Carnival The annual Shawnee State University (SSU) Halloween Carnival will be held in the University Center at SSU from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Sponsored by the office of Student Activities at SSU, the free event that attracted some 300 children last year is open to the public. Pony rides, a petting zoo, games, a costume contest, candy, and rides for children of all ages are some of the activities available to those searching for a frightfully good time. For the older crowd, SSU is hosting a masquerade party in celebration of the inauguration of SSU’s fifth president, Rita Rice Morris, Ph.D., at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, in the James A. Rhodes Athletic Center at SSU. The cost is $25 per person. There will be music, dancing, and a costume contest with cash prizes. To make a reservation, call (740) 351-3284. # # # |
