Rory Kennedy to Speak
at SSU Rory Kennedy, co-founder and president of Moxie Firecracker Films, Inc. and a daughter of the late Senator Robert Kennedy, will speak about her 1999 award-winning film, “American Hollow,” at Shawnee State University (SSU) on Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m. in the Flohr Lecture Hall of the SSU Clark Memorial Library. The film, (shown several times last week) which chronicles one year with an eastern Kentucky family caught between century-old tradition and the demands of the modern world, will be shown free to the public prior to Kennedy’s appearance, due to popular demand. The additional screening of the film will be on Thursday, April 22 at 4:30 p.m. in the Clark Memorial Library Room 205 (a room next to the Flohr Lecture Hall) at SSU. This event, free and open to the public, is made possible by the Leslie Williams Symposium for the Advancement of Women, the SSU Women’s Forum, and the Jane M.G. Foster Distinguished Lecture series.
