In EDUC 1115, you are introduced to a variety of Clark Memorial Library resources that support your program in Teacher Education.

To locate lesson plan resources that are of credible content, developmentally appropriate for your students, well-organized, clearly and accurately presented, and free of bias or dogma, librarians recommend that you use collections that have been created by professional organizations.


Educator's Reference Desk -- Accessing Lesson Plans on the Web  
  1. Using a Web browser (such as Internet Explorer), near the top of the browser screen, in the window beside Address, Location, Website, or Netsite, type the URL http://www.eduref.org/ and tap <enter>.
  2. At the Educator's Reference Desk homepage, click on the Lesson Plans tab.
  3. Click on "Write a Lesson Plan Guide"  (in the box on the left) to review a model for creating lesson plans. 
  4. Under “Browse Lesson Plans by Subject,” click on a subject area.  Click on a subject subdivision, if necessary.
  5. Click on the title of a lesson plan. 
  6. To print the lesson plan, click on "Printer friendly text".

Gateway to 21st Century Skills -- Accessing GEM Lesson Plans on the Web
  1. Using a Web browser, near the top of the browser screen, in the window beside Address, type the URL http://www.thegateway.org and tap <enter>.
  2. At the GEM homepage, you may browse folders or you may search the GEM Catalog.
  3. Click on the title of a lesson plan.

Web Resources for Education -- The Very Best Professional Resources
  1. Go to the Clark Memorial Library homepage.
  2. Under "HELP, HINTS, and TIPS, click Course/Research Guides.
  3. Click Teacher Education Guides .
  4. Click Web Resources for Pre-Service Teachers.
  5. Click a link or scroll down to the desired category. 
  6. You can move on to a page with even more weblinks by clicking More Web Resources for Teacher Education.

Curriculum Materials Center & Graphics Lab -- Our Local Materials and Work Area

Department of Teacher Education faculty have chosen the resources in the Curriculum Materials Center & Graphics Lab for you.  The CMC is open the same hours as the Library, but Graphics Lab use may be limited to times when staff are on duty in the CMC.

Most of the materials in the Curriculum Materials Center -- including audiovisual media and computer programs -- are CATALOGED on the Clark Memorial Library Catalog.  Almost everything can be checked out.
