November 2 @ St. Vincent
Shawnee State lost to St. Vincent 1-0 to close out the 2003 season.  St. Vincent  got a goal from Tearra Kuhn at the 30-minute mark of the first half.  That was all the offense the Bearcats would need as SSU could muster just 4 shots for the second consecutive match.
 
November 1 @ Salem
Shawnee State played Salem to a 0-0 double overtime tie.  Salem out shot SSU 14-4, but Jessica Votaw responded with 14 saves to secure the tie.
 
October 25 @ Defiance

Shawnee State lost to Defiance College 2-1.  Katie Klear scored both Defiance goals in the first half.  SSU's Kelly Hatas added a goal near the end of the first frame to cut the deficit in half.  Defense dominated the second period as neither team would scratch the scoring column.  Jessica Votaw recorded 13 saves in the contest for the Bears.  

 
October 21 vs. Malone

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team lost to Malone College 2-1.  Shawnee State got off to a quick start with a goal on a direct kick by Kelly Hatas just five minutes into the first half.  Malone’s Taryn Carlson tied the game twenty minutes later.  Megan Gasperan scored the winning goal just five minutes into the second half. Shawnee State’s Jessica Votaw recorded 11 saves in the loss.  Malone out shot SSU 20-2. 

 
October 18 @ Ohio Dominican

The Shawnee State University Women's Soccer Team upset AMC leader, Ohio Dominican, 2-0.  The Bears scored early in the first period on a goal by April Wolf, off an assist from Jen Cummins.  Cummins added to her game totals with a goal midway through the first period.  Kelly Hatas chalked up an assist on the play.  Jessica Votaw had 12 saves in the shutout victory.

 
October 13 @ Kentucky Christian

Shawnee State defeated Kentucky Christian College by a score of 2-0.  Shawnee State had goals from freshmen Kelly Hatas and April Wolf.  Wolf’s goal came on an assist from Stacy Fennell.  Hatas’ score was a corner kick that she bent into the goal.  Jessica Votaw and Courtney Beatty combined for the shut out in goal.

 
October 11 vs. Tiffin

Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team lost to Tiffin University by a score of  5-2. Tiffin jumped out to an early lead as Kristen Pekarek scored on an assist from Rachel Garofolo just 1:23 into the match.   Tiffin would add three more goals in the period to take a 4-0 halftime lead. Shawnee State cut the lead in half with 2 goals from April Wolf in the second period.  The first came on an assist from Kelly Hatas at the 58-minute mark.  The second came on an assist from Courtney Logan 10 minutes later.  Tiffin’s Melissa Ford added a goal in the game’s final 2 minutes. 

 
October 8 @ Berea

Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team defeated Berea College 4-1.  Lucinda McCann scored her second goal of the season just two minutes into the match on an assist from Julie Mihalik.  Ashley Fender scored on an assist from Jen Cummins to give SSU a 2-0 lead at the half.  Kelly Hatas scored just minutes into the second half on an assist from Kim Smith.  Lucinda McCann added another goal late in the second half on an assist from Hatas.   Berea avoided the shut out with a goal in the game’s final minutes.  Jessica Votaw recorded 13 saves in the victory.

 
October 4 @ Urbana

Shawnee State lost a 2-0 decision to Urbana University.  Urbana out shot SSU 24-10.  The Blue Knights scored once in each half of the contest.  Jessic Votaw recorded 17 saves in the loss for SSU. 

 
September 30 @ Capital

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team lost to Capital University by a score of 3-1.  Capital took at 1-0 lead into halftime.  Capital would extend the lead to 3-0 before SSU would find the net.  Shawnee State’s Kim Smith scored her second goal of the season on assist from Lucinda McCann in the 83rd minute of the match.  Jessica Votaw recorded 12 saves for the Bears.  Capital out shot SSU 26-5.

 
September 27 @ Walsh

Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer lost to Walsh University by a score of 4-1.  Jen Cummins scored the only goal for the Bears early in the second period.  The goal came off a corner kick from Kelly Hatas.  Jessica Votaw recorded 19 saves in the loss. Meghan Patton recorded 2 assists for Walsh. Stephany Quinn and Jodi Antirican both added a goal and an assist in the win. The Cavaliers out shot the Bears 27-5.  

 
September 23 vs. Kentucky Christian

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team drilled Kentucky Christian College by a score of 5-0.  Shawnee State opened the scoring at the 34:00 minute mark in the first half.  Stacy Fennel scored her third goal of the season on an assist from April Wolf.  The Bears found the net again just two minutes later when Lucinda McCann scored on an assist from Ashley Fender.  Wolf added three assists in the second half on goals by Jessica Burkhart, Kim Smith, and Katie Stephenson.  Wolf’s 4 assists is a Shawnee State single match record.  Jessica Votaw and Courtney Beatty combined for the shut out victory. 

 
September 21 @ Marietta

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team lost to Marietta College 1-0.  The lone goal in the match came at 30:28 in the first half on a penalty kick by Amy Lehosit.  SSU managed just 4 shots compared to 17 by Marietta.  Jessica Votaw recorded 11 saves for the Bears.

 
September 20 vs. Mt. Vernon

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team lost to Mt. Vernon Nazarene by a score of 5-0.  Mt. Vernon out shot SSU by a 33-14 margin.  Catherine Hess scored 2 goals for the Cougars.  Krysti Wilson had 11 saves for the shutout.  Jessica Votaw recorded 12 saves on the afternoon for the Bears. 

 
September 16 vs. Cedarville

Shawnee State lost its AMC opener to Cedarville University by a score of 7-1.  The Yellow Jackets out shot the Bears by a 38-6 margin.  Laura Radcliffe and Jane Adams scored 2 goals apiece for the Jackets.  The Bears' lone goal came from Marseille Markham on an assist from Kelly Hatas.

 
September 14 @ Georgetown

Georgetown College defeated Shawnee State 3-0.  GC out shot SSU 21-3 in the match.  All of Georgetown’s goals came in the first half.  Jessica Votaw recorded 18 saves in the contest.  The match marked the 4th time in 5 games Shawnee State has been shut out this season. 

 
September 13 @ Brescia
Shawnee State lost to Brescia by a score of 1-0.  SSU took 12 shots on goal compared to 15 by Brescia.  SSU’s Jessica Votaw recorded 14 saves.  Brescia’s goal came in the opening half. 
 
September 6 vs. Grace

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team won its home opener on Saturday defeating Grace College by a score of 3-2.  Stacy Fennell scored two goals in the match.  April Wolf had two assists and Kelly Hatas had an assist.  Hatas scored the game winner with 2:25 left in the game.  The goal came from 30 yards out on an assist from Jen Cummins.  Jessica Votaw recorded 10 saves in goal for the Bears. Keri Wildman scored both goals for the Lancers. 

 
August 31 @ Earlham

The Shawnee State University Women's Soccer Team lost a 1-0 decision to Earlham College.  Jessica Votaw recorded 11 saves for SSU, however, the Bears could muster just 3 shots on goal the entire match.  

 
August 30 @ Anderson 

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team opened the 2003 season with a 0-0 double overtime tie at Anderson University.  Shawnee State (0-0-1) managed 10 shots on goal in the 110 minutes of play.  SSU All-American goalkeeper, Jessica Votaw, had 10 saves on the day.  Anderson (0-0-1) took 11 shots in the contest.
