November 1 vs. Daemen

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team fell to the Warriors of Daemen College by a score of 1-0 to close out the Bears' 2002 season.  Goalkeeper Jessica Votaw recorded 6 saves in the loss.  Diana Brusseau recorded the lone goal for the Warriors.

 
October 30 @ Cedarville

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team played Cedarville University to a 0-0 double-overtime tie.  Cedarville out shot SSU 20-9 in the match, but SSU goalkeeper, Jessica Votaw, played a solid game, recording 13 saves.  Shawnee State’s best chance to score came at the end of the 1st half as a shot by Brandy Dewar hit the crossbar.

 
October 26 vs. Anderson

The Shawnee State University Women's Soccer Team defeated Anderson University 3-1.  Shawnee jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half and withstood an attempted comeback by Anderson.  Brandi Dewar led the Bears' attack with 2 goals.  Laura Schulz added one goal, while Jennifer Cummings helped out with 2 assists.  Carrie Kyne also had an assist for the Bears.  

 
October 22 @ Malone

The Shawnee State University Women's Soccer Team dropped an American Mideast Conference Match to Malone College by a score of 5-0.  Malone out shot SSU 23-14 on the day.  Jessica Votaw recorded 18 saves in the loss.

 
October 19 vs. Ohio Dominican

The Shawnee State University Women's Soccer Team dropped an American Mideast Conference Match to Ohio Dominican by a score of 4-0.Shawnee State managed just twelve shots compared to ODU's seventeen.  Jessica Votaw recorded 8 saves in the loss.

 
October 17 @ Kentucky Christian

The Shawnee State University Women’s Soccer Team defeated Kentucky Christian College 5-0. Shawnee State got two goals and an assist from Marseille Markham. One of the goals was unassisted. The second came on an assist from Brandy Dewar. The Bears also had one goal apiece from Laura Schulz, Jill Striet, and Lisa Jacquemin. Jennifer Cummins and Ashley Brown each recorded an assist in the match.

 
October 13 vs. Brescia
The Bears offensive struggles continued as they lost 2-1 to Brescia University.  Marseille Markham tallied her 3rd goal of the season in the contest.  Jessica Votaw recorded 5 saves in the match.
 
October 12 @ Tiffin
Tiffin University defeated Shawnee State 6-1.  Laura Schulz scored the lone goal for the Bears.  The Dragons out shot SSU by a 22-8 count.  Jessica Votaw recorded 16 saves in the losing effort.
 
October 5 vs. Urbana

Shawnee State lost to Urbana by a score of 3-1.  The Bears kept the game close allowing one goal in the first half of play.  The second goal for Urbana came off of a corner kick 3 minutes into the second half.  Shawnee came back scoring a goal at the midway point, but Urbana ended any hopes of a victory with a goal 4 minutes left in the game.  Laura Schulz led the Bears with one goal coming off of an assist from Marseille Markham.  Freshman Ashley Brown defended the goal with 10 saves.  Ashley was playing for Jessica Votaw who was sitting out with an injury.  

 
October 2 @ Baldwin-Wallace
Shawnee State University lost a 2-1 decision to Baldwin-Wallace College in double overtime.  Lisa Jacquemine scored SSU’s lone goal on an assist from April Holbrook. Jessica Votaw recorded 21 saves on the night.
 
October 1 vs. Wilmington
Shawnee State dropped their 5th straight decision as they fell to Wilmington College by a score of 2-0.  The teams played to a 0-0 tie through the first half, but Wilmington scored just three minutes into the second period.  Shawnee State managed just 8 shots compared to Wilmington's 25.  SSU's Jessica Votaw recorded 11 saves on the afternoon.
 
September 29 vs. Georgetown
Georgetown College blanked Shawnee State by a score of 3-0.  The Bears fell behind early as Georgetown's Meghan Scott scored just 2:25 into the game.  Jessica Votaw recorded 8 saves for SSU.
 
September 28 vs. Walsh
Walsh University shutout Shawnee State 2-0.  Walsh out shot SSU 24-6 in the game.  SSU's Jessica Votaw recorded 11 saves in the match.
 
September 25 vs. Otterbein
Otterbein College out shot Shawnee State 23-4 as they cruised past the Bears 3-0.  Jessica Votaw recorded 13 saves in the loss.
 
September 21 @ Mt. Vernon Nazarene
Shawnee State opened conference play with a 6-0 loss to Mt. Vernon Nazarene.  The Cougars out shot the Bears 33-3 on the day.  Jessica Votaw recorded 27 saves in the losing effort.
 
September 18 vs. Kentucky Christian
Shawnee State opened the 2002 season with a 6-0 win over Kentucky Christian College.  Laura Schulz scored 4 goals and had 1 assist for the Bears.  Marseille Markham added 2 goals.
