October 28 vs. St. Vincent

Shawnee State closed out their inaugural season as they were shut out by St. Vincent College 5-0.  St. Vincent out shot SSU 22-3 in the match.  Erica Sutherland recorded 9 saves in the loss.

 

October 27 vs. Campbellsville

Shawnee State defeated Campbellsville University by a score of 1-0 and earned their 3rd shut our of the season.  Shawnee Sate scored in the second minute of the second half.  Marseille Markham scored on an assist from Kasie Weaver.  Shawnee State out shot Campbellsville by a 19-5 margin.  

 

October 21 vs. Notre Dame College

Shawnee State fell to Notre Dame College by a score of 3-0 as they lost their 5th straight decision.  Notre Dame took only 7 shots on the day, but they capitalized on three of them.  Shawnee State continued to struggle offensively as they were only able to take 5 shots in the match.  

 

October 17 @ Cedarville

Shawnee State suffered their worst defeat of the season as they fell to Cedarville College 12-0.  Cedarville out shot the Bears 36-2 in the match.

 

October 14 vs. Seton Hill

For 70 minutes Shawnee State played toe-to-toe with the second place team in the AMC.  Unfortunately the final 20 minutes proved devastating for the Bears as Seton Hill poured in 6 goals to defeat the Bears 7-0.  Seton Hill out shot SSU 21-5 on the day.  Erica Sutherland recorded 8 saves before the scoring began for Seton Hill.

 

October 10 @ Mount Vernon

Shawnee State lost to Mount Vernon Nazarene by a score of 5-0 on Tuesday.  MVNC out shot the Bears 31-2 in the match.  Erica Sutherland recorded 21 saves in the defeat.

 

October 7 vs Geneva 

Shawnee State fell to Geneva College by a score of 3-0 on Saturday.  Geneva out shot the Bears 15-5 on the day.  Erica Sutherland did record 6 saves in the defeat.  

 

October 6 vs Bluffton

Tiffany Savage scored in the 85th minute of action to break a scoreless tie and secure the 3rd win of the season for the Bears.  The goal came on an assist from Brandy Dewar.  Tasha Wortman and Erica Sutherland combined for the shutout.

 

September 30 vs. Tiffin

The Tiffin Dragons shutout the Bears by a score of 8-0 on Saturday.  Tiffin out shot the Bears by a whopping 31-1 margin.  Shawnee State fell to 2-8 on the season.  SSU will be back in action on Friday, October 6, as they host Bluffton College.

 

September 28 vs. Marietta

Marietta College blanked Shawnee State 4-0 in an out of conference match on Thursday.  This match marked the 5th time this season the Bears have been shutout.

 

September 23 @ Walsh

Jenny Rudmann scored her 3rd goal in 2 games, but it was not enough as Walsh University defeated SSU by a score of 3-1.  Rudmann's goal came on an assist from Marseille Markham with just 5 minutes remaining in the first half.  Walsh scored 2 goals in the second half to secure the victory.

 

September 19 vs. Urbana

Urbana out shot Shawnee State on the day, but two goals from Jenny Rudmann and another for Brandy Dewar were too much for the Blue Knights.  Brandy Dewar scored her 2nd goal of the season as well.  The win marks the first AMC victory for the Shawnee State women's soccer program.  

 

September 16 vs. Malone

The Shawnee State Women's Soccer Team fell to Malone College 6-0 on Saturday.  Malone out shot SSU 17-2 on the day. 

 

September 12 @ Ohio Dominican

The Shawnee State Women's Soccer Team fell to Ohio Dominican 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday.  Shawnee State got goals from Marseille Markham and Brandy Dewar.. Erica Sutherland had 6 saves on the night.  Rachel Smalley and Brandy Dewar each had an assist.

 

September 9 vs. St. Mary (@ Anderson Tournament)

SSU picked up the first victory in school history on Saturday as they defeated St. Mary of the Woods College 5-0.  Sarah Bryant scored 2 goals in the victory and Brandy Dewar recorded 2 assists.  Marseille Markham had a goal and an assist.  Jenny Rudmann and Candace Burton added the remaining two goals.  Tasha Wortman and Jessica Burkhart each had an assist.  Markham and Burkhart were named to the All-Tournament Team.

 

September 8 @ Anderson University

SSU fell to Anderson University 2-4 in the opening round of the Anderson Classic.  Marseille Markham and Jenny Rudmann each scored a goal for the Bears.  Becky and Ruthie Holden each added an assist.  Erica Sutherland recorded 12 saves in the loss.

 

September 3 @ Kenyon College

The Bears dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 decision to Kenyon College in the consolation match of the Kenyon Classic.  The Bears played extremely well coming of a 5-0 defeat to Capital University the previous day.

 

September 2 vs. Capital University (@ Kenyon Tournament)

Shawnee State fell to NCAA Division III powerhouse Capital University 5-0.  This match marked the first varsity competition for Shawnee State University Women's Soccer.
