November 21 @ NAIA National Meet (Vancouver, Washington)
The Shawnee State men's cross country team completed the 2009 season with the school's best finish at the NAIA National Meet as the Bears finished 4th overall of 32 teams.  Senior Corey Culbertson placed 24th overall in a time of 25:45 to earn All-American honors.  Freshman Galen Dills finished 49th overall in a time of 26:06.  Sophomore Shane Meyer finished 61st as he completed the course in 26:14, while junior Josh Linkous finished 69th in a time of 26:20.  Senior Tyler Hickey ran 26:25 to finish 82nd overall.  Juniors Chuck Wentz and Michael Owen rounded out the scoring for the Bears as they ran 26:44 and 26:59, respectively.  The three qualifiers for the Shawnee State women's team ran well as freshman Tisha Grove led the Bears with a time of 20:06 good for 132nd place. Sophomore Brittney LiPira finished 224th in a time of 20:51 and Kasey Hosier finished 243rd in a time of 21:00.
 
November 7 @ American Mideast Conference Meet @ Cedarville University
Shawnee State women's team finished 3rd at the American Mideast Conference Meet at Cedarville University.  The women's team placed 3rd out of 11 teams.  Malone won the event with 32 points, followed by Cedarville with 42 points.  Shawnee State tallied 102 for 3rd place.  The Bears were led by sophomore Brittney LiPira who finished 13th in a time of 19:23 earned 2nd Team All-AMC recognition.  Freshmen Kasey Hosier and Tisha Grove was named Honorable Mention All-AMC as they finished 19th and 20th overall in times of 19:46 and 19:49.  LiPira, Hosier, and Grove each earned individuals bids to run in the NAIA National Tournament in Vancouver on November 21.  sophomore Amanda Burton finished 33rd overall in a time of 20:41, while sophomore Brianna McCauley finished 38th as she completed the course in 20:49.  Freshman Maria Lancianese and senior Ann Maria Allen rounded out the scoring for the Bears.  Lancianese finished the course in 21:16 for 43rd place and Allen completed the course in 21:40 for 48th place.  [Results]
 
October 24 @ Aquinas Invitation

Shawnee State women's cross country team finished 8th out of 21 teams at the Aquinas Invitational.  AMC opponent and NAIA #8 ranked Cedarville won the meet with 59 points. Sophomore Brittney LiPira and freshman Kasey Hosier led the Bears as they finished the course in 19:09 and 19:10, finishing 15th and 16th overall.  Sophomore Amanda Burton finished 46th overall in a time of 19:50, while sophomore Brianna McCauley placed 63rd in 20:06.  Torey Predmore finished the course in 21:20, placing 108th. Freshman Maria Lanciancese and senior Ann Marie Allen rounded out the scoring for the Bears as they finished the course in 21:30 and 21:44 respectively.  [Results]

 
October 10 @ Family Gibson Invitational

The Shawnee State women's cross country team finished 5th at the Gibson Family Invitational.  Purdue won the event with 31 points and Cedarville finished 2nd as they posted a team score of 47.  Brittney LiPira led the Bears with a 7th place finish as she finished the course in 23:38.  Kasey Hosier ran a time of 24:06 to finish 13th overall, while Tisha Grove completely the course in 24:12 to place 16th.  Amanda Burton ran 25:11, placing 29th and Brianna McCauley placed 26th with a time of 25:38.  Rounding out the scoring for the Bears was Maria Lancianese who ran a time of 25:56 and Torey Predmore who finished with a time of 27:06.  [Results]

 
October 2 @ All-Ohio Meet

The Shawnee State women's cross country team placed 26th out of 42 teams at the All-Ohio Meet on Friday afternoon. Ohio State University won the event with 58 points, while Miami University finished 2nd with 75 points.  Malone University finished 5th with 217 points and Cedarville University finished 6th with 224 points. Brittney LiPira led the Bears as she ran 20:11 to finish 57th.  Kasey Hosier finished 94th in a time of 20:49, while Amanda Burton ran 21:38 to finish 137.  Tisha Grove and Brianna McCauley ran 22:26 and 22:34 to finish 190 and 197 respectively.  Ann Maria Allen rounded out the scoring for the Bears as she finished the course in 23:22.  [Results]

 
September 19 @ Friendship Invitational

NAIA No. 23 ranked Shawnee State finished 3rd at the Friendship Invitational at Cedarville University.  Ashland won the event with a team score of 39.  Cedarville finished 2nd with 64 points, while the Bears finished with a team score of 110.  Brittney LiPira led the Bears with a 5th place finish and finished the course in a personal record time of 19:04.  Sara Armstrong finished 10th overall in a time of 19:16 and Tisha Grove placed 20th overall in a time of 19:36.  Kasey Hosier finished the 5K course in 20:12 placing 33rd and Amanda Burton placed 42nd running a time of 20:30.  Rounding out the scoring for the Bears was Brianna McCauley who finished 44th in a time of 20:31 and Ann Marie Allen who finished in a time of 21:11 to place 61st. 

 
September 12 @ Queen City Invitational
Shawnee State finished 4th out of 10 teams at the Queen City Invitational, only behind three NCAA Division I schools.  Xavier won the meet with a team score of 48.  Cincinnati finished 2nd and Northern Kentucky finished 3rd.  Brittney LiPira led the Bears as she placed 7th in a time of 19:36.  Sara Armstrong finished 11th overall and ran the 5K course in 19:50.  Kasey Hosier placed 22 in a time of 20:10, while Tisha Grove ran the course in 20:19, placing 26th.  Amanda Burton recorded a time of 21:01 and Brianna McCauley ran a 21:43.  Rounding out the scoring was Maria Lancianese who finished the race in 22:07.
 
September 4 @ Shawnee State Invitational
Shawnee State women's team finished 2nd out of 5 teams in the SSU Invitational.  NAIA No. 2 ranked Cedarville University won the event with 24 points, with the Bears finishing with a score of 33 points.  Cedarville's Katie Gillespie won the event with a time of 18:06, with teammate Lydia Wong finishing 2nd in 18:24.  SSU's Sara Armstrong lead the Bears with a 3rd place finish with a time of 18:49.  Brittney LiPira finished 5th for the Bears in 19:11, followed by Kasey Hosier who finished 6th with a time of 19:15.  Finishing 7th was SSU's Tisha Grove who covered the 5k course in 19:25.  Rounding out the scoring for the Bears was Amanda Burton who finished 12th with a time of 20:36, Brianna McCauley who placed 14th with a time of 20:49, and Ann Marie Allen who finished 19th with a time of 21:12. [Results]
