On Sunday, a fatigue Shawnee State team fell
to Classic host Georgetown College. At the break the
Bears were knotted at 37 with Georgetown, but the Tigers
managed to outscore the Bears 43-39 in the second half to
squeak by with the win. Albers led all scorers as she
tallied a double-double with 29 points and pulled down 10
rebounds. She also had three steals, one assist, and
one block for the Bears. Junior Jill Cropper added 15
points, while Meyer contributed 11 points. Ballman
also had a solid game as she added 10 points, nine assists,
eight rebounds, and four steals.
Shawnee State
shot 44% from the floor as the Bears hit 28-of-63 attempts.
The Bears hit 13-of-24 three-pointers in the game for 54%.

November 14 vs. Lee @ Georgetown Habitat

On Saturday, the Bears pulled a come from
behind victory to upset NAIA Division II No. 2 ranked Lee
University 73-70 in overtime. The Bears were down
39-27 at the break, scored 34 second half points to tie the
game at 61 and force overtime. In overtime, the Bears
outscored Lee University 12-9 to pull of the upset.
Shawnee State had three players in double-figures and senior
Mallory Albers led led the Bears as she poured in 29 points
as she went 8-for-10 from the field, hitting two
three-pointers, and hitting 11-for-15 at the line.
Albers also tallied two rebounds, two assists, and two
steals. Sophomore Abby Ballman added 16 points, three
rebounds, and an assist. Senior Whitney Williams added
11 points and three steals, two assists, and two steals in
the game. Alison Meyer pulled down a team-high eight
rebounds. Shawnee State shot 52% from the field, hitting
22-of-43 attempts, as Lee shot 39% from the floor as they
hit 25-of-63 attempts. From beyond the arc the Bears
made 7-of-19 attempts for 37%. Lee drained 12
three-pointers out of 35 attempts for 34%. At the
charity strip the Bears went 22-for-29 for 76%, while Lee

The Bears returned to action as they beat
Concordia University 95-75. Junior Jill Cropper led
five players in double-figures as she tallied a
double-double with a career-high 27 points and 12 rebounds
to go along with four assists. Albers added 18 points,
six rebounds, and three steals. Ballman tallied 16
points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals in the
game for the Bears. Senior Whitney Williams added 14
points, while senior Allison Meyer added 10 points. Shawnee
State shot 56% from the field as they went 32-for-57 on the
floor. The Bears made 11-of-19 attempts beyond the arc
for 58%. From the line SSU went 20-for-29 for 69%. [Box

November 6 vs. Marian @ Walsh Classic |

Shawnee State opened the season as they
defeated Marian University 64-51. Senior Mallory Albers
led the Bears as she scored 20 points, tallying her 1,005 point
of her career. Albers also dished out four assists and had
two steals in the game. Sophomore Abby Ballman had a solid
game as she tallied 17 points, seven steals, pulled down five
rebounds, and had two assists in the game. Shawnee State
shot only 30% from the floor compared to 45% that Marian shot.
Marian also out rebounded the Bears 43-35. The difference
in the game was that the Bears defense forced Marian 36
turnovers, compared to 12 that Shawnee State committed. [Box
