out the 2006-2007 season with a 67-57 loss to Geneva College in the
American Mideast Conference Finals. Shawnee State trailed
44-35 with 15:17 to play in the second half. The Bears pulled to
within 48-46 at the 7:27 mark only to see Geneva make a 7-1 run over
the next two minutes. A Karen Diehl basket at 3:10 pulled the Bears
back within two points at 57-55. Shawnee State missed its next 6
field goal attempts and Geneva went on an 8-0 run to put the game
out of reach. Karen Diehl led the Bears with 20 points. Kelly
Wagner added 18 points and 6 rebounds. Becky Babione tallied one
block to tie the school record with 64 blocks in a single season.
Allyson Clarke had 27 points and 13 rebounds to lead Geneva. Jackie
Anthony chipped in with 11 points. Neither team shot the ball

Conference Tournament finals. Shawnee State trailed throughout the
majority of the first half. Trailing 20-13 with 11:24 to play, the
Bears mounted a 22-8 run over the next nine minutes. Shawnee State
took a 30-28 lead on an Andrea Rudmann three-pointer at the 3:46
mark. SSU never relinquished the lead. Kelly Wagner and Jennifer
Grandy led the Bears with 16 points each. Alison Meyer had 14
points and 7 rebounds. Cierra Malone led Notre Dame with 16 points
and 10 rebounds. Ashley Carney had 15 points. Sarah Dia and Jamie
King had 13 points apiece. Shawnee State shot 48% (29-60) from
the field overall. The Bears were 6-of-20 beyond the arc and

Katalain Beck had 11 points and 7 rebounds. Krissy Haines had 10

field while holding Ohio Dominican to 27% (17-63) shooting. The
Bears made 4-of-19 3-pointers and 6-of-15 foul shots. The Panthers

Shawnee State lost
the final game of the regular season to Urbana University 75-65.
Urbana jumped out to a 10-2 lead to open the game. Though Shawnee
State tied the game at 10, Urbana built a 38-22 halftime lead.
Shawnee State pulled to within 57-52 with 3:57 to play. Urbana
scored six straight points to extend the lead to 63-62. Sam Riley
made 12-of-12 free throws over the final 1 ˝ minutes of play to seal
the victory for Urbana. Karen Diehl led the Bears with 18 points
and 8 rebounds. Jennifer Grandy had 14 points. Kelly Wagner
chipped in with 8 points and 12 rebounds. Sam Riley led Urbana with
33 points. Taria Blanchard had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Brittany
Runner added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Shawnee State managed to
shoot just 36% (24-67) from the field. Urbana was 27-of-66 for
41%. The Blue Knights scored 22 points on 19 Shawnee State

run. The run ended on a pair of free throws by Katie Keller with

Shannon Leasure led a balanced Shawnee State attack with 15 points
apiece. Becky Babione chipped in with 11 points. Eleven different
players scored for the Bears. Katie Keller led
Mt. Vernon with 21 points. Amy Sebastian had 15 points. Rachel
Fiely and Jessica Lynn scored 11 and 10 points respectively. Shawnee State shot

Shawnee State snapped a four-game losing skid with a 77-71 win over
Wilberforce University. Shawnee
State led by as many as 11 points in the first half before
Wilberforce was able to tie the game at the half. Wilberforce
built on their momentum and held a 66-57 lead with 6:59 to play.
The Bears forced 8 turnovers in the final minutes to close the game
on a 20-5 run. Kelly Wagner led the Bears with 16 points and 5
rebounds. Karen Diehl and Mallory Albers scored 15 points
apiece. For Albers, the 15 points marked a career-high.
Latoya Graham led Wilberforce with 19 points. Shamarah Thomas
added 18 points. Tamara Moss had 14 points and 5 rebounds.

Shawnee State lost an exhibition game to 16th ranked Kentucky 99-42.
Shawnee State struggled on both ends of the floor.
The Bears shot just 27% (16-59) from the field. The Wildcats
connected on 55-of-80 attempts from the field for 55%.
Kentucky out rebounded Shawnee State 60-25. Jill Cropper led
the Bears with 10 points on the night. Karen Diehl had 9
points. Jennifer Grandy chipped in with 5 points and 7
rebounds. Sarah Elliott and Samantha Mahoney had 14 points
each for Kentucky. Chante Bowman and Jenny Pfeiffer both added

Shawnee State lost
the final game of the 2006 Wendy’s Classic to Daemen College 95-85.
Kelly Wagner led the Bears with 22 points and 10 rebounds. She was
just 5 of 9 from the field, but converted on 12 of 15 attempts from
the free throw line. Alison Meyer had 17 points off the bench.
Jennifer Grandy had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Karen Diehl chipped
in with 10 points and 8 boards. Allison Depp had 23 points and 7
rebounds to lead Daemen. Germany Jackson had 21 points. Alison
LaPoint had 19 points and 8 rebounds. Mary Kate Wilson had 16

Shawnee State, ranked 24th in NAIA Division II, opened the season
with an 87-60 win over Roberts Wesleyan College in Game 2 of the
Wendy's Classic. Five players had double figures for the
Bears. Kelly Wagner led Shawnee State with 20 points on 8 of
13 shooting from the field. She was 4 of 8 from the free throw
line. Karen Diehl had 19 points and 9 rebounds. Jennifer
Grandy and Alison Meyer had 13 and 12 points respectively in their
collegiate debuts. Andrea Rudmann chipped in with 11 points.
Three Raiders tallied double-doubles. Nikki Shackelton led the
way with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Aimee Kovinchick had 12
points and 12 rebounds. Janna Payne had 10 points and 10
rebounds. Shawnee State managed to shoot just 38% (29-76) from
the field, but held RWC to 37% (23-61) shooting. Shawnee State
overcame a 50-46 rebounding deficit by scoring 37 points on 30
Raider turnovers. The Bears committed just 13 turnovers.
