December 3 vs. Indiana Tech @ NAIA National Tournament
The Shawnee State volleyball team completed their stellar 2009 season as they fell to Indiana Tech in their final game of pool play in the NAIA National Tournament.  The Bears came out strong and won the first set 25-19.  Indiana Tech took set two by the same margin.  In a back-and-forth set the Bears battle back late, but came up short as they fell 25-23.  Shawnee State fell in the fourth set 25-20 and was eliminated out of play.  Shawnee State continued to struggle at the net as they committed 24 errors in the match. Shawnee State was balanced with Indiana Tech as the Bears tallied 58 kills in the match, and Indiana Tech tallied 59.  The Bears had three players in double-figures in kills.  Junior Heather Koehler led the Bears with 21 kills on the night.  Senior Megan Wills tallied 13 kills in her final game as a Bear.  Junior Jami Turrill added 12 kills for the Bears.  Junior Haley Halcomb set up 49 assists.  The Bears defense rebounded from last night's performance and tallied 63 digs in the match.  Three players recorded double-figures in digs.  Junior Tiffany Dailey led the defense with 20 digs.  Turrill and Halcomb added 12 and 11 digs, respectively.  Turrill led the Bears with four blocks and freshman Kim Rosen added three blocks.  [Box Score]
 
December 2 vs. Biola @ NAIA National Tournament
The Shawnee State (31-5) volleyball team lost to a tough #10 Biola (23-10) squad on the second day of pool play in the NAIA National Tournament.  The Bears couldn't get rolling in the first two sets as they fell 25-17 and 25-19.  However, the Bears came out strong in the third set and controlled the momentum until Biola rolled off consecutive points to take a 17-14 lead.  The Bears never regained the lead after this and fell 25-18 in the third set.  Shawnee State stayed equal with Biola as the Bears tallied 36 kills in the game, compared to Biola's 38 kills.  The difference in the game was that the Bears committed 26 hitting errors in the match.  Shawnee State was led by junior Heather Koehler's 13 kill performance.  Junior Jami Turrill added eight kills and five digs.  Junior Haley Halcomb led the Bears with 29 assists in the game to go along with 6 digs.  Tiffany Dailey led the Bears' defense with 21 digs. December 1 vs. Northwestern (Iowa) @ NAIA National Tournament
The Shawnee State volleyball team lost in three sets to a tough #3 Northwestern (Iowa) in the opening game of pool play in the NAIA National Tournament.  Northwestern (34-2) defeated Shawnee State (31-4) in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-15.  Northwestern, which was eliminated by Biola in the quarterfinals in the NAIA National Tournament last season, dominated the net.  The tall Northwestern front line for the Raiders tallied 44 kills and 12 blocks in the game. Shawnee State tallied only 24 kills in the game.  Senior Megan Wills led the Bears with eight kills, while junior Heather Koehler added six kills.  Junior Haley Halcomb led the floor as she set up 21 assists in the game. November 21 vs. Union (Opening Round of NAIA National Tournament)
The Shawnee State volleyball team took care of business as they dominated Union College in the Opening Round of the NAIA National Tournament on Saturday evening.  The Bears won in three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-12 to win their 25th consecutive match this season.  The Bears will travel to the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena in Sioux City, Iowa; location of the NAIA National Championship presented by Siouxland Sports Medicine Foundation December 1 through 5.   The Bears got off to a bit of a slow start as they trailed 9-7, but the Bears rallied behind junior Tiffany Dailey as she served seven straight points.  After the Bears regained the lead, they never looked back as the took the set 25-19.  Shawnee State controlled the next two matches as they won 25-13 and 25-12.  Shawnee State had a great night offensively as the Bears only committed three errors at the net.  Junior Heather Koehler had a stellar night at the net as she had 15 kills, of 25 attempts with only two errors.  Senior Megan Wills added eight kills with only one error.  Junior Jami Turrill and freshman Kim Rosen added five kills and junior Chelsea Howard added four kills. Junior Haley Halcomb set up 34 assists for the Bears and lead the Bears with 11 digs.  Howard added nine digs and junior Tiffany Dailey and Koehler added seven digs. November 7 @ Daemen

The Bears traveled to Daemen in the Bears final American Mideast Conference match-up.  Shawnee State had little trouble with Daemen as the Bears defeated the Wildcats in three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-20.  Koehler led the Bears charge with 19 kills and two blocks.  Wills added 13 kills and two blocks.  Halcomb tallied 36 assists to go with two kills and two service aces.  The Bears had four players in double-figures in digs.  Dailey led the Bears with 22 digs, while Halcomb and Turrill each added 13 and freshman Jessica Winkleman added 10 digs. November 6 @ Roberts Wesleyan
The Shawnee State volleyball team completed a perfect season in American Mideast Conference as they won a pair of matches in New York this weekend to go 12-0 in conference play.  This is the first time in Shawnee State history that the Bears have captured the AMC Championship.  After a long trip, Shawnee State defeated Roberts Wesleyan in four sets on Friday.  The Bears defeated the Raiders by scores of 25-26, 25-22, 23-25, and 25-20.  Junior Heather Koehler led the Bears as she drilled 15 kills out of 38 attempts with no errors at the net.  She also tallied four solo blocks.  Junior Jami Turrill added 14 kills, 10 digs, and two blocks.  Senior Megan Wills added nine kills.  Junior Haley Halcomb led the Bears on the floor as she set up 38 assists.  She also tallied 10 digs and two blocks.  Junior Tiffany Dailey led the defense as she dug up 22 digs.

November 3 vs. West Liberty
The Shawnee State volleyball team dominated West Liberty University home to win their 24th consecutive match of the season. Shawnee State controlled the match as they only committed five hitting errors on the night. Junior Heather Koehler led the Bears offense with 12 kills on 18 attempts with one error to go along with nine digs.  Junior Jami Turrill added nine kills, while freshman Kim Rosen added eight kills with one error and two blocks. Senior Megan Wills played a solid game as she completed her senior career at Shawnee State with 7 kills of 13 attempts with no errors.  She also added six digs and one block.  Junior Haley Halcomb set up 36 assists to go along with 10 digs, a career-high five service aces, and a block.  [Box Score]
 
October 31 vs. Concordia
The Bears defeated Concordia in three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-13, 25-21.  Koehler led the Bears as she tallied 14 kills (no errors).  Turrill and Wills each added seven kills in the game.  Turrill also led the Bears with 12 digs in the match, while Dailey contributed 11 digs for the Bears.  Halcomb set up 35 assists in the game. October 31 vs. Urbana
Shawnee State defeated Urbana in game 2 of the quad match. The Bears controlled the match and won in three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-13.  Heather Koehler and Jami Turrill each had a solid game at the net as Koehler led the Bears with 14 kills (one error) and Turrill added seven kills (no errors) and seven blocks.  Senior Megan Wills added six kills (no errors).  Haley Halcomb tallied 28 assists in the game to go along with two block and a service ace.  Tiffany Dailey led the defense with 12 digs, while freshman Jessica Winkleman added 11 digs.  [Box Score]
 
October 31 vs. Ohio Valley
The Bears dominated Ohio Valley in three sets winning by scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-11.  Shawnee State got a balanced attack as eight players tallied kills.  Junior Heather Koehler led the Bears offense with nine kills to go along with 1 block.  Junior Jami Turrill added seven kills and a team-high five blocks.  Junior Chelsea Howard and freshman Kim Rosen had six kills apiece for the Bears.  Junior Haley Halcomb set up 30 assists in the match.  Turrill and junior Tiffany Dailey had 11 digs.   [Box Score]
 
October 24 @ Ursuline
Shawnee State volleyball team continues to roll in the American Mideast Conference as the Bears defeated Ursuline College in three sets to remain undefeated in conference play.  Junior Heather Koehler led the Bears with 11 kills and one block, while senior Megan Wills added 10 kills.  Junior Haley Halcomb led the Bears on the floor as she set up 36 assists in the match.  Shawnee State's defense, which is ranked #1 in the NAIA in digs per game, was stellar as the Bears tallied 37 digs in the match.  Junior Tiffany Dailey led three players in double figure digs as she tallied 21 in the match.  Halcomb tallied 17 and freshman Jessica Winkelman added 12.  [Box Score]
 
October 20 @ Rio Grande
Shawnee State dominated rival Rio Grande in three straight sets to hand the RedStorm their fourth straight loss. Shawnee State dominated the match as they defeated Rio Grande by scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-18.  Shawnee State had three players in double figures as junior Heather Koehler led the Bears attack with 16 kills.  Freshman Kim Rosen had 13 kills, while junior Jamie Turrill added 11 kills and two blocks. October 17 @ Northwestern Ohio

In the final match of the day the Bears defeated Northwestern Ohio by scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-19.  Megan Wills had 12 kills, six digs, and three kills in the game to lead the Bears.  Heather Koehler added 11 kills, four digs, and two blocks, while Jamie Turrill had 10 kills, 12 digs, and two service aces.  Haley Halcomb led the Bears on the floor as she tallied 39 assists and 13 digs. October 17 vs. Houghton @ Northwestern Ohio

Shawnee State opened the first match defeated Houghton in three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-20.  Megan Wills led the Bears at the net as she tallied 13 kills in 14 attempts with no errors.  Jami Turrill added 10 kills, seven digs, and a block for the Bears.  Kim Rosen had nine kills, while Heather Koehler added eight kills, six digs, and two blocks.  Haley Halcomb led the team as she set up 40 assists.  Tiffany Dailey had 14 digs in the match. October 16 @ Notre Dame
Shawnee State defeated Notre Dame in four sets to win their fourteenth consecutive match and remain undefeated in the conference.  Shawnee State came out strong in the first set defeating Notre Dame 25-19.  The Bears came out flat in the second set allowing Notre Dame to take the match 25-23.  SSU picked it up in the third and fourth sets to win them 25-17 and 25-16 and take the match.  AMC Player of the Week Heather Koehler (Russellville, OH) led the Bears offense will 15 kills and two blocks.  Kim Rosen (Harrison, OH) had 12 kills in the match, while Megan Wills added 10 kills.  Jami Turrill added eight kills, 17 digs, and three blocks for the Bears.  Haley Halcomb set up 36 assists for the Bears while adding eight digs and six kills.  Tiffany Dailey led the defense with 36 digs.  [Box Score]
 
October 10 vs. St. Francis (IN)
Bears came back to battle St. Francis in five sets, winning the match by scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-10.  Koehler again had a stellar performance as she led the Bears with 17 kills, while adding 14 digs.  Megan Wills (Lancaster, OH) added 15 kills and one block in the match.  Rosen played a consistent match at the net as she tallied 14 kills and no errors.  Turrill added 11 kills and career-high 25 digs.   Haley Halcomb set up 55 assists in the match and tallied 11 digs.  Dailey dug up 31 digs in the match.  [Box Score]
 
October 10 vs. Malone
Shawnee State, which has played six games in six days, came out flat, but managed to pull out a five set victory against AMC opponent Malone University.  After losing the first set in a back and forth battle 25-23, the Bears took control to win set 2 and 3 by scores of 25-23 and 25-20.  Malone answered back as they won the fourth set 25-17.  Behind a tremendous offensive effort by junior Heather Koehler (Russellville, OH), who tallied seven kills of eight attempts in the final set to give the Bears the 15-13 win and take the match to remain undefeated in conference play. Koehler had a career game as slammed a career-high 27 kills, one shy of the Shawnee State record for kills in a game.  She also tallied 10 digs and one block.  Kim Rosen (Harrison, OH) tied a career-high as she recorded 15 kills in the match.  Jami Turrill (Albany, OH) tallied 11 kills, 20 digs and four block for the Bears.  Haley Halcomb led the Bears with 57 assists, adding 25 digs and five kills in the match.  Tiffany Dailey anchored the Bears defense with 33 digs, while Jessica Winkleman added 19 digs. October 9 vs. Walsh
In a hard fought battle, the Shawnee State volleyball team took over sole 1st place of the American Mideast Conference as the Bears downed Walsh University in four sets.  The Bears came out strong and controlled the first two sets winning the sets 25-21 and 25-18.  In a back and forth set, each team battled hard, but Walsh made the last rally to win the set 25-23.  Shawnee State bounced back and outmanned the Cavaliers in the fourth set, winning it 25-16.  Shawnee State had a very productive night at the net as Heather Koehler led the Bears offense with 17 kills and two blocks.  Kim Rosen added 11 kills with no errors and four blocks.  Megan Wills and Jami Turrill each added 10 kills for the Bears, while Turrill added five blocks.  Haley Halcomb led the Bears on the floor with 45 assists and 22 digs.  Tiffany Dailey had an outstanding defensive performance with 27 digs on the night.  "This is a big win for the players, the program, and our school as we defeated Walsh for the first time in school history," said Head Coach Kristy Kamer.  "The players have worked hard and came ready to play. October 7 vs. Mountain State
The Shawnee State volleyball team handled Mountain State in three sets to win their tenth consecutive match by scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 25-10. Shawnee State controlled every aspect of the game from beginning to end as they committed only seven errors in the entire game. The Bears' offense led the charge as they allowed Mountain State only three points off their own serve.  Shawnee State had a balanced attack as 10 different players tallied at least one kill in the game.  Kim Rosen and Chelsea Howard led the Bears attack as they each tallied 9 kills and two blocks in the game.  Jami Turrill added eight kills, 10 digs and two blocks.  Megan Wills added six kills, while Heather Koehler and Alex Pohl each added four kills apiece.  Haley Halcomb set up 35 assist in the game.  Tiffany Dailey led the Bears defense as she tallied 16 digs, while Halcomb added 12.  [Box Score]
 
October 6 vs. Mount Vernon
After losing the first set 25-19 and down 12-7 in the second, Tiffany Dailey led the Bears' rally as she served 10 straight points to give the Bears the 16-12 lead.  The Bears went on to win the second set 25-18.  Mount Vernon took the third set 25-16, but the Bears bounced back to win set four 25-18 sending the match into the final set.  Shawnee State captured the victory as they won the final set 15-12.  Kim Rosen led the Bears' as she tallied 14 kills in the game.  Heather Koehler and Megan Wills each added 13 kills in the game.  Koehler also tallied 12 digs and four blocks for the Bears.  Jami Turrill also had a solid night for the Bears as she tallied 12 kills, 15 digs and five blocks.  Haley Halcomb set up 49 assists.  Dailey led the Bears defensively with 37 assists, while Chelsea Howard and Jessica Winkleman added 18 and 17 digs respectively. October 3 vs. Ohio Dominican
The Bears then defeated Ohio Dominican in three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.  Heather Koehler had 14 digs in the game to led the Bears offense.  Megan Wills added 11 kills, 10 digs, and two blocks.  Jami Turrill added nine kills and had a team-high 18 digs, while Tiffany Dailey added 17 digs.  Haley Halcomb tallied 37 assists in the game. October 3 vs. Point Park
Shawnee State defeated Point Park in conference action.  The Bears won in three sets by scores of 29-27, 25-13, 25-15.  Kim Rosen led the Bears with 11 kills and two blocks, while Heather Koehler had 10 kills, eight digs, and three blocks in the game.  Megan Wills added eight kills.  Jami Turrill added seven kills and 13 digs.  Haley Halcomb set up 27 assists and had 10 digs.  Tiffany Dailey and Chelsea Howard added 18 digs and 17 digs respectively. The Shawnee State volleyball team improves to 2-0 in conference action as they defeated Carlow in three sets.  The Bears defeated Carlow by scores of 25-15, 25-13, 25-18. Shawnee State volleyball team defeated the Cedarville University in three sets to open conference play. September 25 vs. University of the Cumberlands
Shawnee State volleyball team defeated the University of the Cumberlands in three sets by scores of 26-24, 25-12, 25-21.  Jami Turrill led the Bears will 11 kills, eight digs, and four blocks.  Chelsea Howard added nine kills, 11 digs, and two blocks, while Heather Koehler added eight kills.  Haley Halcomb tallied 39 assists in the game.  Jessica Winkleman had 14 digs to led the defense and Tiffany Dailey added 13 digs.  [Box Score]
 
September 19 vs. Ohio Dominican @ Malone Invitational
The Bears finished the tournament with a five set win over Ohio Dominican.  The Bears won by scores of 25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 13-25, 15-9.  Megan Wills led the Bears with 17 kills and four digs.  Heather Koehler added 16 kills, 12 digs, and three blocks for the Bears. September 19 vs. St. Xavier @ Malone Invitational
Shawnee State defeated St. Xavier in three sets by 25-16, 25-17, 25-19.  Heather Koehler had 13 kills, seven assists, and two blocks in the game, while Kim Rosen added 10 kills.  Haley Halcomb tallied 33 assists in the game.  Chelsea Howard and Tiffany Dailey added 15 and 14 digs in the match for the Bears.  Jami Turrill added 12 digs, nine kills, and five blocks. The Bears then went on to defeat Grace in three sets on Friday evening.  The Bears won by scores of 25-13, 25-19, 25-17.  Megan Wills had nine kills and two service aces in the match to lead the Bears.  Jami Turrill and Kim Rosen added eight kills and seven kills respectively.  Rosen also had four blocks in the game.  Haley Halcomb set 26 assists in the match, while Tiffany Dailey had 21 digs. September 18 vs. Cornerstone @ Malone Invitational
Shawnee State opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Cornerstone.  The Bears lost in four sets by scores of 26-24, 20-25, 25-23, and 25-19.  Heather Koehler led the Bears with 16 kills, 12 digs, and three blocks.  Megan Wills added 14 kills, while Kim Rosen added 12 kills and one block for the Bears.  Haley Halcomb tallied 50 assists in the match to go along with 19 digs and four kills.  Tiffany Dailey had 21 digs in the match.

The Bears defeated Windsor by scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-17 in the final match of the tournament.  Kim Rosen and Jami Turrill each had eight kills. Turrill also had 10 digs and four aces in the match.  Chelsea Howard added six kills and 10 digs.  Haley Halcomb tallied 27 assists and 11 digs. The Bears defeated Spring Arbor by scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.  Jami Turrill had 12 kills, 12 digs, and three blocks in the game.  Kim Rosen added 10 kills and had no errors in the match.  Haley Halcomb tallied 32 assists and 16 digs, while Tiffany Dailey added 25 digs. [Box Score

 
September 8 @ Capital
Shawnee State defeated Capital University in three sets.  The Bears defeated the Crusaders by scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-18.  Kim Rosen led the Bears with 11 kills.  Rosen was 11-for-13 on hitting and produced a .769 hitting percentage in the game.  Heather Koehler had 11 kills in the game, while Jami Turrill added seven kills.  Haley Halcomb tallied 21 assists and five digs for the Bears.  Tiffany Dailey had 13 digs in the game.[Box Score]
 
August 29 vs. Asbury (SSU Invitational)
The Bears defeated Asbury in three sets to capture the title.  SSU won by scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-17.  Heather Koehler had 10 kills, five digs, and four blocks against the Eagles.  Tiffany Dailey had 23 digs in the game and Haley Halcomb tallied 36 assists.  [Box Score]
 
August 29 vs. Cincinnati Christian (SSU Invitational)
Shawnee State opened up Day 2 of the event with a four set win over Cincinnati Christian.  The Bears won by scores of 25-12-25-17-28-30, and 25-11.  Heather Koehler led the Bears with 12 kills and three blocks in the game, while Jami Turrill and Kim Rosen each added nine kills.  Tiffany Dailey had 28 digs in the game.  Dailey, who was just two digs shy coming of Shawnee State's career record for digs, broke the school record and currently holds it with a tally of 1,345 after today's action.  Haley Halcomb had 36 assists and 11 digs in the game.  [Box Score]
 
August 28 vs. Saint Franics (SSU Invitational)
The Shawnee State volleyball team defeated the University of Saint Francis in three sets by scores of 25-21, 26-24, 29-27 to open the SSU Invitational.  Kim Rosen led the Bears in her college debut with 10 kills, three digs, and two assists.  Heather Koehler had nine kills and four digs, while Jami Turrill added seven kills and 16 dig.  Chelsea Howard had a team high 19 digs to go along with six kills and Tiffany Dailey added 18 digs.  Haley Halcomb had 32 assists in the game.
