Coach's Comments
-- “Kara’s been in the
starting line-up since her freshman year. As a
veteran, we’ll need her leadership, especially given
we have so many young players. There is a lot she
can teach our freshmen and sophomores about this
game and this conference, and I am counting on her
to do just that.”
2005 Season -- Kara played
in all 111 games as a senior. She was second
on the team with 261 kills and third with 32 service
aces. Kara broke the school record for career
digs with 897 and career service aces with
181. Her most complete game of the season came
in the 3-2 win over Asbury. She recorded 17
kills, 20 digs, 1 service ace, and 1
block.
2004 Season -- Kara played
in all but one game in 2004. She was third on
the team with 199 kills and fourth in service aces
(34) and digs (175). She recorded a
career-high 19 kills in a 3-1 win at Rio Grande on
October 5. She became the school's all-time
career digs leader with 760.
2003 Season --
Kara was second on the squad with 58 aces.
After just two seasons, Kara places second on the
career-aces list with 115. She is fourth on
the all-time digs list with 585.
2002 Season -- Kara
led the Bears with 57 service aces on the season.
She tied a school record with 10 aces over OU-Southern
on September 9. She recorded a career-high 13
kills in the Bears' upset of Mt. Vernon Nazarene and
again in a home loss to Cedarville. Kara was named
to the AMC All-Freshman team.
Lancaster High
School -- Kara was a 1st Team All
County selection and was also award the team’s
most improved player. Kara also earned the Karen
Wohrer Scholarship while lettering two years in
volleyball.
