SSU SIGNS FOUR LOCAL PLAYERS FOR 2010 SEASON
The Shawnee
State softball team has signed four local players to
continue their softball careers at Shawnee State for the
2010 season.
Jamie Clevenger,
a center fielder from Wheelersburg High School, was a
four-year letter winner in softball. She has accumulated a
career batting average of .360 and was a twice named
All-SOC.
Joining
Clevenger is teammate Danielle Hall. Hall, a 3rd
baseman, lettered four-times in softball. Clevenger and
Hall
both helped lead their team to four SOC Championships and to
an overall record of 90-17 over their four years at
Wheelersburg.
Cami Groves, a
pitcher and 1st baseman from Clay High School,
earned 1st Team SOC recognition twice. She
helped lead Clay to Regional Championship twice and to the
State
semi-finals as a sophomore. She also is a four-year letter
winner in volleyball and a three-year letter winner in
basketball. She has also earned all-district honors in
volleyball twice.
Ali Thompson, a
pitcher from Green High School, was named SOC Player of the
Year twice. She earned 1st Team All-Ohio
recognition as a junior and honorable mention All-Ohio as a
sophomore. She earned 1st Team All-SOC and 1st
Team all-district honors two times.
