
BEARS' SIGN WEST LIBERTY'S EMILY DETWILER

High School's Emily Detwiler has signed a letter of intent
to play softball for the Bears' as a member of the 2012
recruiting class.
Emily comes to Shawnee State after a very
successful career at West Liberty. During her
four-year career the Tigers accumulated a 112-11 record. The
third baseman helped guide the Tigers to a Regional Final as
a sophomore, State Final Fours as a freshman and senior and
to a State Runner-up Title as a junior. During her junior
and senior years, she batted .487 and .447 at the plate.
"Emily is a well-rounded student-athlete,"
says Bears' Assistant Coach Amy McGuire. "We look forward to
the positive impact that she will make on our program. She
is a fundamentally sound infielder that will make an
immediate contributions to the team."
Shawnee State competes in the Mid-South
Conference. In their first season in the MSC, the Bears
accumulated a 19-19 record with a mark of 12-10 in the
conference.
