April 27 vs. Mount Vernon
Shawnee State softball team split a double-header with Mount Vernon Nazarene University to end the season.  Shawnee State lost the opener 3-2.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss in her final game She pitched a complete game allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits, while striking out five.  Offensively Harmon added a double in the game.  Ashley Speas led the Bears as she went 2-for-3 in the game with a double.  [Box Score]  The Bears won the night cap 2-1.  With the knotted at 1 in the bottom of the 7th the Bears rallied.  Katie Daniel started the inning with a single to right center.  In her final game as a Bears, Emily Furhmann hit a sacrifice bunt to move Daniel into scoring position.  Ashley Speas then hit a single to center field to score Daniel and give the Bears the 2-1 victory.  Daniel got the win on the mound as she pitched a complete game allowing one run on six hits, with five strikeouts. April 26 vs. Carlow
Shawnee State softball team swept a double-header versus Carlow Down 3-0 in the bottom of the 7th with two outs the Bears rallied to take a 4-3 victory over the Carlow.  Taylor Messer got the two-out rally started with a single, followed by a walk for Libby Hooper.  Stephenie Andronis singled to right field to score Messer and get the Bears on the board.  Emily Furhmann continued the rally with a single to right field, scoring Hooper.  Cassie Erlenwein hit a single driving in Andronis and Furhmann to give the Bears the come from behind win. Lori Harmon pitched a complete game allowing three runs on six hits, and one walk.  She struck out seven batters in the game.          [Box Score]  Shawnee State won the night cap 4-3.  Katie Daniel got the win as she pitched 5.2 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits while striking out five. Lori Harmon got the save as she pitched the final 1.1 innings, striking out one.  Cassie Erlenwein was 3-for-3 in the game.  Stephenie Andronis went 2-for-2 at the plate with a triple.  Ashley Speas added a double for the Bears. April 24 vs. Ursuline

Shawnee State blanked Ursuline College in the first ever meeting of the two schools. Shawnee State won the opener 8-0.  Lori Harmon pitched a complete game shutout allowing only 2 hits and striking out 5.  Cassie Erlenwein hit a 3 run triple in the 2nd inning to get the Bears’ offense rolling as they took a 5-0 lead after 2 innings.  Kayla Evans was 2-for-2 in the game with a homerun and 2 runs scored. [Box Score]  The Bears won the night cap 6-0.  Katie Daniel got the win as pitched a complete game allowing 5 hits, 4 walks, while striking out 4.  Emily Fuhrmann was 3-for-4 in the game with a double and 2 runs scored.  Ashley Speas had 2 hits in the game including a double while Stephanie Koon added a triple for the Bears. April 23 @ Rio Grande
Shawnee State softball team lost a double-header to the University of Rio Grande.  The Bears lost the opener 6-0.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she allowed 6 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits, while striking out 4 in the game.  Anna Smith got the win for the RedStorm as she allowed 3 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 4. Jourdan Priddy led the Bears with 2 hits, including a double.  [Box Score]  Shawnee State lost game 2 by a score of 10-2 in 5 innings.  Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss for the Bears.  She allowed 10 runs (9 earned) on 11 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 2.  Allison Mills got the win as she allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits, and 2 walks.  She had 4 strikeouts in the game.  Lori Harmon was had a double and 2 RBI's in the game for the Bears. April 18 @ Malone

Shawnee State split with Malone College. Shawnee State won the opener 1-0. Lori Harmon got the win as she pitched the entire game allowing no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 5. Ashleigh Ralston was tagged with the loss as she pitched 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run (1 earned) on 4 hits with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts.  Kayla Evans went 1-for-2 in the game for the Bears with a double, and 1 RBI. Cassie Erlenwein was 1-for-2, had a stolen base, and scored the only run. [Box Score] The Bears lost the night cap 3-4. SSU’s Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss as she allowed 4 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits with 2 walks.  She also struck out 5 batters. Katie Keslar got the win for the Pioneers as she allowed 2 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 4 in the game. Kelsey Hatfield got the save allowing 1 run on 4 hits and struck out 3. Harmon went 2-for-3 for the with 2 doubles while Erlenwein went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. [Box Score]

 
April 17 @ Walsh

Shawnee State split with Walsh University.  Shawnee State won the opener 9-1. Katie Daniel got the win as she pitched the entire game allowing 1 run (1 earned) on 5 hits, while striking out 3. Kelsey Ford was tagged with the loss as she pitched 2.1 innings and allowed 8 runs (8 earned) on 10 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. Kayla Evans went 3-for-3 in the game for the Bears with a double, 2 RBI’s and 1 run scored. Emily Fuhrmann was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 runs scored while Katie Cartee went 1-for-2, with 2 RBI’s, 2 runs scored and a homerun in the contest. [Box Score] The Bears lost the night cap 7-11. SSU’s Kayla Evans was tagged with the loss as she allowed 11 runs (8 earned) on 11 hits with 2 walks.  She also struck out 2 batters. Ashley Virgin got the win for the Cavaliers as she allowed 7 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits, 8 walks, and struck out 4 in the game. Ashley Speas went 3-for-3 for the Bear’s with a double, homerun, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI’s. April 10 vs. Point Park
Shawnee State lost a double-header to Point Park University.  Shawnee State lost the opener 7-2.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she pitched the entire game allowing 7 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits, while striking out 3.  Abbie Heigel got the win as she pitched the entire game allowing 2 runs on 8 hits with 2 walks and retiring 4 batters. Cassie Erlenwein was 2-for-3 in the game for the Bears with a double.  Kayla Evans added a pair of hits and a homerun in the contest. [Box Score] The Bears lost the night cap 5-0.  SSU’s Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss as she allowed 5 runs on 7 hits with 2 walks.  She also struck out 6 batters.  Kristen Zelenka got the win for the Pioneers as she allowed 2 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 5 in the game. Point Park out hit the Bears 7-2 in the game.  Taylor Messer hit a double for the Bears. April 5 @ Urbana

The Bears fell to Urbana in a double-header.  Shawnee State fell 9-2 in the opening game.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she allowed 9 runs on 6 hits on 11 hits, while walking 2.  She struck out 2 batters.  Emily Furhmann got a pair of hits in the game for the Bears. [Box Score SSU lost the night cap 3-2.  Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss as she allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings, while walking 1 and striking out 2. [Box Score]

 
April 4 @ Notre Dame

In conference action Shawnee State lost a double-header to Notre Dame.  The Bears lost the opener 8-3.  Lori Harmon took the loss as she pitched 6 innings allowing 8 runs (7earned) on 14 hits, with 2 strikeouts. Ashley Speas was 2-for-3 in the game with 2 doubles. Stephenie Andronis and Kayla Evans each added a double for the Bears. [Box Score]  The Bears lost game 2 by a score of 6-2.  Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss as she allowed 6 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits in 6 innings of play.  She also struck out 3 batters.  Kayla Evans went 2-for-3 with a homerun in the game. March 31 vs. Cedarville

Shawnee State swept Cedarville University to open conference play.  Lori Harmon pitched the entire game and allowed 2 runs (both unearned) on 1 hit, while walking 4.  She retired 3 batters in the game.  Emily Young was tagged with the loss as she pitched 3 innings and allowed 9 runs (7 earned) on 12 hits.  The Bears had 14 hits in the game.  Katie Daniel was 3-for-4 in the game with 2 RBI’s.  Taylor Messer was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, a RBI and 2 runs scored.  Emily Furhmann and Kayla Evans each added 2 hits in the game. [Box Score] The Bears won the night cap 3-1.  Katie Daniel got the win as she pitched the entire game allowing only 1 run on 6 hits.  She also tied a career-high 8 strikeouts in the game.  Lori Harmon and Stephenie Andronis each went 2-for-3 in the game with a run scored. March 16 vs. Haskell Indian Nation @ Snowbird

Shawnee State fell to Haskell Indian Nation 8-2 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she allowed 8 runs (2 earned) on 8 hits, with 1 walk, and struck out 4 batters. Lori Harmon went 2-for2 in the game with an RBI, while Taylor Messer went 2-for-3 and Cassie Erlenwein went 2-for-4 with an RBI and 1 run scored. Ashley Speas scored the Bear’s second run in the top of the 7th. [Box Score]
