May 3 vs. Ohio Dominican

Shawnee State split a double-header with Ohio Dominican University to complete the season.  Ali Hull-Keaton hit a single to center field in the bottom of the 7th inning to score two runs and force the game into extra innings, but it wasn’t enough as the Bears lost 3-2 in 10 innings.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she pitched 10 innings and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4 batters.  Erica Sutter got the win for ODU as she pitched the final 2 innings and allowed 1 hit.  Petra Jones pitched 8 innings for the Panthers and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, 1 walk, while striking out 3. [Box Score Shawnee State won the night-cap 9-1 in 6 innings.  Katie Daniel got the win as she pitched 6 innings and allowed 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks.  She had 3 strike outs in the game.  Petra Jones got the loss as she pitched the final 1/3 innings and allowed 1 run on 2 hits.  Maria Staton pitched 4 1/3 innings for ODU and allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits, 2 walks, and had 1 strikeout.  Erica Sutter pitched 1 inning and allowed 5 runs on 2 hits, 2 walks, and had 2 strikeouts.  In their final games for the Bears, Tammie Jo Coleman scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI’s in the game, Katie Wade had 3 RBI’s, and Ali Hull-Keaton added 2 RBI’s.

April 27 @ Rio Grande

Shawnee State split at double-header at Rio Grande.  Shawnee State lost the opener in a classic pitcher's duel by the score of 1-0.  Both teams managed just four hits in the contest.  The lone run in the game came on a suicide squeeze in the 4th inning.  Lori Harmon (8-9) took the loss for the Bears.  Miranda Laws (15-4) got the win for Rio Grande.  [Box Score]  The Bears' bats woke up in the night-cap as they pounded out 14 hits to win 6-1.  Lori Harmon and Ali Keaton had 3 hits apiece.  Emily Fuhrmann, Lauren Ellis, and Katie Daniel each had 2 hits.  Daniel (10-9) got the win as she allowed 1 run on 9 hits while striking out five.  [Box Sore]

 
April 26 @ Urbana
Shawnee State split a double-header with Urbana.  The Bears won the opener by a score of 5-4.  Lori Harmon picked up the win as she allowed 4 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits.  She walked 2 and struck out two.  Ali Keaton had a pair of hits and scored a run.  Lauren Elllis hit her 6th homerun of the year.  She scored 2 and drove in two.  [Box Score]  Shawnee State lost game-two by a score of 6-3.  Emily Fuhrmann and Tammie Jo Coleman had 2 hits apiece.  Lauren Ellis hit her 10th double of the year and drove in 2 runs.  Amanda Avery hit a solo homerun.  Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss as she gave up 6 runs (5 earned) on 13 hits.  She struck out 1 and did not surrender a walk.  [Box Score]
 
April 25 vs. Cedarville

Shawnee State Softball Team lost a double-header to Cedarville University.  Shawnee State lost the opener 4-0.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she pitched a complete game and allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 12 hits, while striking out 2.  Mallory White got the win as she pitched a complete game and allowed 4 hits and 3 walks.  She had 4 strike outs.  For the Bears Ashley Speas went 2-for-2 in the game with a double. [Box Score]  Shawnee State lost the night-cap 2-1.  Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss as she pitched a complete game allowed 2 run (0 earned) on 3 hits, while retiring 8 batters.  Sarah Harnica got the win as she pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed 1 run on 6 hits and struck out 1.  Mallory White got the save as she pitched 1 2/3 innings and had 2 strike outs.

April 24 vs. Urbana

Shawnee State split a double-header to Urbana.  Tammie Jo Coleman hit a triple to center field in the top of the 12th inning which allowed Emily Furhmann to score the winning run and gave the Bears the 9-8 edge over Urbana in the opener.  Katie Daniel got the win as she pitched the final three innings and allowed 3 hits and had 4 strike outs.  Lori Harmon pitched 9 innings and allowed 8 runs (7 earned) on 13 hits and 2 walks.  She had 4 strike outs in the game.  Katie Cramer was tagged with the loss as pitched a total of 10 1/3 innings and allowed 6 runs (1 earned) on 13 hits, 1 walk and 1 strikeout.  Ashley Meyer pitched 1 inning for the Blue Knights and allowed 3 runs on 2 hits, while walking 2 batters.  Harmon also went 3-for-5 at the plate with a double.  Lauren Ellis had a homerun in the game for the Bears. April 23 vs. Charleston

Shawnee State split a double-header with The University of Charleston.  Shawnee State lost the opener 4-0.  The Bears committed 4 errors in the game while managing just 3 hits of their own.  Lori Harmon took the loss for the Bears as she gave up 9 hits.  Stefanie Rossman got the win for Charleston as she recorded 11 strikeouts.  [Box Score]  Shawnee State won the night-cap 1-0 despite getting just 1 hit in the contest.  Lauren Ellis reached base on a fielder's choice with 1 out in the seventh inning.  She stole second base and scored on a double by Katie Wade to win the game.  Katie Daniel (8-6) got the win for Shawnee State as she scattered 7 hits over 7.0 innings.  [Box Score]

 
April 20 vs. Pikeville

Shawnee State split a double-header with Pikeville College.  Shawnee State lost the opener by a score of 2-0.  The Bears had 6 hits in the game but never got a runner past 2nd base.  Pikeville scored once in the 4th inning off an RBI single by Megan Swan.  Pikeville added an insurance run in the top of the 7th on an RBI single by Marissa Adkins.  Lori Harmon (7-6) took the loss for the Bears.  She gave up 9 hits and struck out one.  [Box Score]  Shawnee State's bats woke up in the night-cap as the Bears won 14-1.  SSU scored once in the 2nd, 8 times in the 3rd, and 5 in the fourth.  Shawnee State pounded out 15 hits including 4 doubles and 2 homeruns.  Lauren Ellis was 4-for-4 in the game with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Emily Fuhrmann, Katie Wade, Lori Harmon, and Mandy Messer had 2 hits apiece.  Katie Daniel (7-6) picked up the win for the Bears.  She gave up just 1 hits while walking 5 and striking out 2.  [Box Score]

 
April 16 @ Pikeville

Shawnee State split a double-header at Pikeville College.  Shawnee State won the opener 6-1.  The Bears opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the first inning.  Pikeville scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the inning.  Shawnee State scored three in the fifth inning and one in the sixth.  Emily Furhmann was 3-for-4 in the game with 2 runs scored and an RBI.  Katie Daniel was 2-for-3 with a run scored and 1 RBI.  Lori Harmon (6-5) picked up the win as she scattered 8 hits over 7.0 innings.  She struck out 5 and walked one.  [Box Score] Shawnee State held a three-run lead through 3.5 innings in the night-cap.  Katie Daniel gave up 5 consecutive 2-out singles in the bottom of the fourth inning allowing Pikeville to tie the game.  Pikeville's Tiffany Little reached on an error to lead off the eighth inning.  She advanced to second on an ground out and then scored on a single by Megan Swan to win the game.  Ashley Speas was 3-for-4 with a run scored.  Katie Wade was 2-for-3 and scored a run.  Katie Daniel (5-6) took the loss as she allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits through 7.1 innings.  [Box Score]

 
April 8 @ Mt. Vernon

Shawnee State lost a double-header at Mt. Vernon Nazarene.  Shawnee State lost the opener by a score of 2-1.  The Bears took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning on a two-out double by Lauren Ellis.  Mt. Vernon tied the game in the 5th inning as Luarretta Wallace scored on a single by Tasha Konkle.  Mt. Vernon won the game in the bottom of the 7th thanks to a hit batter and an error.  Wallace led off the inning with a double.  Whitney Clark was then hit by a pitch.  Tasha Konkle reached on a fielder's choice as Lori Harmon attempted to make the force play at 3rd base.  Harmon's throw was off  the mark and all runners wire safe.  One out later, Leslie Banichar singled to left field to end the game.  Lori Harmon (5-5) was tagged with the loss as she allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 10 hits through 6 1/3 innings.  Kristin Eyerman (8-1) picked up the win for Mt. Vernon.  [Box Score]  Shawnee State lost the night-cap 2-0.  Both team's bats were quiet throughout most of the game.  Mt. Vernon broke through with two runs in the 6th inning.  Tasha Konkle led off the inning with a single to center.  Kristen Kurelic followed with an infield hit to third base.  Both runners advanced on a wild pitch and Konkle scored on a ground out by Karly Clay.  Kurelic scored on a double by Staci Graham.  Shawnee State tried to come back in the top of the 7th  as Lori Harmon and Katie Daniel hit back-to-back one-out singles.  The Bears were unable to take advantage as Mandy Messer struck out looking and Ashley Speas grounded out to the pitcher.  Katie Daniel (5-5) took the loss as she allowed 2 runs on 5 hits.  Candace White (6-4) picked up the win as she scattered 7 hits over 7 innings.  [Box Score]

 
April 6 vs. Rio Grande

Shawnee State lost a double-header to Rio Grande University.  Shawnee State lost the first game 1-4.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she allowed 4 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks.  Miranda Laws got the win as she allowed 1 run on 7 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 3 batters.  Lauren Ellis was 3-for-3 with a double in the game and scored the Bears only run.  Katie Daniel had a RBI in the game. [Box Score]  Shawnee State lost the second game 3-6.  Katie Daniel got the loss as she allowed 6 runs on 13 hits and 3 walks.  She had 3 strikeouts in the game.  Sophia Young got the win for Rio Grande as she allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and had 1 strike out.  SSU’s Katie Wade had a homerun in the game. April 5 @ Cedarville

Shawnee State split a double-header with Cedarville University.  Shawnee State won the first game 7-3.  Lori Harmon got the win as she allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits and 2 walks.  She had 4 strike outs.  Emily Furhmann was 4-for-4 in the game with a double, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  Lauren Ellis added a homerun in the game and Harmon had a double. [Box Score]  The Bears lost the second game 3-5.  Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss as she allowed 5 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits, 2 walks, and had 3 strikeouts.  Mandy Messer had a homerun in the game. March 29 @ Ohio Dominican

After getting off to an 8-1 start, the Shawnee State Softball Team has lost four straight games including a double-header setback at Ohio Dominican.  Shawnee State lost the opener 9-5.  The Bears took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning on an RBI single by Tammie Jo Coleman.  ODU responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning.  Trailing 5-2 after five innings, the Bears tied the game with a 3-run sixth only to see Ohio Dominican put up a 4-spot in the bottom of the sixth.  Lori Harmon took the loss as she allowed 9 runs (7 earned) on 12 hits.  Emily Fuhrmann had 2 hits and 3 RBI.  Lauren Ellis, Ali Keaton, and Lori Harmon all had 2 hits apiece.  [Box Score]  Shawnee State lost the night-cap 7-6.  As in the first game, each time the Bears scored, Ohio Dominican responded with runs of their own.  The Panthers fought back from a one-run deficit, a two-run deficit and a pair of ties.  The Bears tied the game 6-6 in the seventh inning only to see ODU come back to win the game in the bottom of the inning.  Katie Daniel took the loss as she allowed 7 runs (6 earned) on 10 hits.  Daniel had 3 hits in the game as well as an RBI and a run scored.  Tammie Jo Coleman had 2 hits and 2 RBI.  [Box Score]

 
March 25 @ Walsh

Shawnee State lost a double-header to Walsh.  Shawnee State lost the opening game 0-8 in 5 innings.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she pitched 5 innings and allowed 8 runs (5 earned) on 10 hits, 4 walks, and struck out 2 batters.  Harmon, Lauren Ellis, and Katie Daniel had the Bears only hits of the game.  [Box Score]Shawnee State lost the second game 3-4.  Katie Daniel was tagged with the loss as she pitched 6 innings and allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, 2 walk, and had 2 strike outs.  Daniel also went 2-for-3 from the plate with a double and scored one run.  Ali Hull-Keaton had a homerun in the game.  Tammy Jo Coleman, Emily Furhmann, and Katie Wade each had a double for the Bears. March 20 vs. Wisconsin-Platteville @ Snowbird
Shawnee State defeated Wisconsin-Platteville 5-0.  Lori Harmon got the win as she pitched a complete game and allowed 1 hit, while striking out 8.  Lauren Ellis was 2-for-3 in the game with a homerun and 2 RBI's. [Box Score]
 
March 20 vs. Gordon @ Snowbird
Shawnee State won 13-5 over Gordon.  Lori Harmon got the win as she pitched 4 innings and allowed 1 run on 4 hits and struck out 4 batters.  Katie Daniel pitched 1 inning and allowed 1 run and had 2 strike outs.  Mandy Messer pitched 1 inning and allowed 3 runs on 1 hits, with 1 strike out.  Harmon also went 3-for-4 in the game with 2 doubles, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI's.  Lauren Ellis was 3-for-3 in the game with 2 runs scored.  Tammie Jo Coleman, Katie Wade, Ali Hull-Keaton, and Amanda Avery each added a double for the Bears. March 19 vs. Mt. Aloyisus @ Snowbird
Shawnee State defeated Mt. Aloyisus 7-2.  Katie Daniel got the win as she pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, 4 walks, and 8 strikeouts.  Lori Harmon got the save as she pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed no hits.  Katie Wade had a double in the game and scored 3 runs. [Box Score]
 
March 19 vs. Mitchell @ Snowbird
Shawnee State defeated Mitchell 16-0 in 5 innings.  Lori Harmon got the win as he pitched the complete game and had 2 walks and a career-high 11 strikeouts.  Tammie Jo Coleman was 4-for-4 in the game with 2 doubles.  Ali Hull-Keaton added a homerun and Lauren Ellis and Ashley Speas each had a double for the Bears. March 18 vs. Baptist Bible @ Snowbird

Shawnee State defeated Baptist Bible 16-0 in 5 innings.  Katie Daniel got the win for the Bears.  She allowed no runs, 2 walks, and had 4 strike outs.  Mandy Messer pitched 2 innings and allowed no runs.  Lori Harmon was 3-for-3 in the game with a triple, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI's.  Katie Wade was 3-for-3 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI's.  Amanda Avery added a triple, while Emily Furhmann and Lauren Ellis each had a double for Shawnee State. March 18 vs. St. Joseph-NY @ Snowbird

Shawnee State lost to St. Joseph College 1-3.  Lori Harmon was tagged with the loss as she allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits, with 1 walk, and struck out 3 batters.  Emily Furhmann scored Shawnee State's only run of the game. [Box Score]

 
March 17 vs. Baruch @ Snowbird

Shawnee State defeated Baruch 10-1 in 5 innings of play.  Katie Daniel got the win as she pitched 5 innings and allowed 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 5.  Ashley Speas and Lori Harmon each hit a homerun and a double for the Bears.  Ali Hull-Keaton also hit a homerun.  Emily Furhmann added a triple, while Katie Wade had a double for the Bears. March 17 vs. Frostburg @ Snowbird

Shawnee State defeated Frostburg 18-1 in 5 innings of play.  Mandy Messer got the win as she pitched the final 3 innings and allowed 1 run on 3 hits, and struck out 3 batters.  Lori Harmon pitched 2 innings and allowed 2 hits and struck out 2.  Lauren Ellis was 4-for-4 in the game with 4 runs scored and 3 RBI's.  Ali Hull-Keaton was 2-for-2 with a homerun and a double.  Emily Furhmann was 3-for-4 in the game with 4 runs scored, 3 RBI's, and a stolen base.  Katie Daniel and Ashley Speas each had a double for the Bears. March 16 vs. Wisconsin-Platteville @ Snowbird

Shawnee State won the first game of the Snowbird, as the Bears defeated Wisconsin-Platteville 10-7.  Katie Daniel picked up the win as she pitched 6 innings and allowed 7 runs (6 earned) on 7 hits, 5 walks, while striking out 7.  Katie Wade and Lori Harmon each hit a homerun in the game, while Ashley Speas added a triple.  Emily Fuhrmann had 2 stolen bases for the Bears.
