May 5 & 6 @ Notre Dame

Shawnee State lost its 3-game AMC Qualifying Series at Notre Dame.  Shawnee State lost the opener 3-0.  Rhonda Sacks took the loss.  She held the Falcons scoreless through 5 innings.  Notre Dame scored 3 runs in the sixth thanks to four singles, and walk, and an SSU error.  Notre Dame's Amanda Stewart held the Bears to just 4 hits, all singles.  SSU managed to advance just 1 runner beyond 1st base.  Shawnee State won Game 2 by a score of 2-1 in 10 innings.  Ashley Keen (11-5) picked up the complete-game win.  She allowed 1 unearned run on 5 hits and 2 walks.  The Bears collected 11 hits in the game including 4 doubles by Katie Wade.  Notre Dame took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.  Shawnee State tied the game in the top of the sixth as Wade led off the inning with a double.  She advanced to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt by Britney Bayless.  She then scored on a sacrifice fly by Tara Walker.  Tammie Jo Coleman led off the 10th inning with a single and advanced on a sacrifice by Kristi Barka.  She scored the game-winning run on a double by Wade.  Shawnee State lost Game 3 by a 2-1 margin on Friday.  Rhonda Sacks (10-6) took the loss as she allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks.  Amanda Stewart (12-5) picked up the win for Notre Dame.  Shawnee State held a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning.  The Falcons picked up a pair of runs on two singles and a walk.

 
April 29 vs. Walsh

Shawnee State swept a double-header from Walsh University to close out the regular season.  Shawnee State won the opener 4-3 in 10 innings.  Rhonda Sacks (10-4) picked up the complete game win as she allowed 3 runs on 7 hits.  SSU trailed 3-2 in the sixth inning.  Katie Wade led off the sixth with her 5th home run of the game.  Wade later scored the game winning run on an error by Walsh pitcher, Lindsay Bauer.  Wade, Kristi Barka, Britney Bayless, and Ali Hull all had 2 hits apiece in the game.  Shawnee State won the night cap 2-0 despite collecting just one hit in the game.  Both of the Bears' runs scored in the top of the first inning thanks to an error, two walks, and three wild pitches.  Ashley Keen (10-5) picked up the win.  She allowed just 6 hits in the game and did not allow a runner past 2nd base.

 
April 28 vs. Urbana

Shawnee State swept a double-header from Urbana University.  Shawnee State won the opener 1-0 as Rhonda Sacks (9-4) tossed her third shutout of the season.  She allowed just 3 hits on the afternoon while recording 1 strike out and surrendering 1 walk.  Katie Wade singled through the right side with 1 out in the fourth inning.  One out later, Wade advanced to third on a single by Britney Bayless.  Tara Walker's single to right field scored Wade to give the Bears their winning margin.  Ashley Keen (9-5) picked up the win in the night cap as the Bears won 9-6.  She allowed 6 runs on 7 hits.  She struck out 2 and did not allow a walk.  Ali Hull was 3 for 3 in the game with a homerun and 4 RBI.  Katie Wade was 2 for 3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.

 
April 27 @ Rio Grande
Shawnee State split a double-header with Rio Grande.  Shawnee State won the opener 6-5.  Rhonda Sacks (8-4) picked up the win as she allowed 5 runs (4 earned) on 11 hits.  She struck out 4 and walked one.  Tara Walker and Megan Felts had 3 hits apiece in the game.  Walker had 2 doubles and scored a run.  Felts was a double short of hitting for the cycle.  She drove in 3 runs and scored two.  Rio Grande won the night cap 5-1.  Ashley Keen (8-5) allowed 5 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and 1 walk.  Shawnee State managed just 4 hits in the game. 
 
April 16 vs. Malone

Shawnee State swept a double-header from Malone College.  Shawnee State won the opener 8-5.  Tammie Jo Coleman (2-0) picked up the win in just her second start of the season.  She gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 14 hits and 3 walks.  She allowed 14 hits, but just one for extra bases, on the day.  Katie Wade was 3 for 4 in the game and hit her 4th homerun of the season.  She scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI.  Britney Bayless was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI.  Megan Felts hit her 5th homerun of the year and drove in 3 runs.  Ashley Keen (8-4) picked up the 8-3 win in the night cap.  She allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and 1 walk.  Britney Bayless was 2 for 3 in the game with 2 runs scored.  Megan Felts drove in 3 runs and Ali Hull had 2 RBI in the game.

  
April 12 @ Mt. Vernon Nazarene

Shawnee State swept a double-header from AMC foe Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.  Shawnee State won the opener 1-0.  Rhonda Sacks (7-4) picked up her second shutout win of the season.  She allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk in the game.  Britney Bayless led off the third inning with a walk.  She stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch.  She scored on a single by Kristi Barka.  SSU won Game Two 6-4.  Ashley Keen (7-4) picked up the win.  She allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 10 hits.  Katie Wade had 3 hits in the game.  Ashley Adkins was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.   

 
April 10 @ Mt. State
Shawnee State out slugged Mountain State University 13-7 in the final game of the Mountain State Invitational.  Rhonda Sacks (6-4) picked up the win.  She allowed 7 runs (5 earned) on 11 hits and 2 walks.  Tara Walker had 4 hits and scored 2 runs.  Kristi Barka was 3-3 with 2 RBI, 2 runs, and 2 walks.  Tammie Jo Coleman and Ashley Adkins had 2 hits each.  Ali Hull had 2 homeruns and 6 RBI.
 
April 10 vs. West Virginia Tech (@ Mountain State)
Shawnee State blanked West Virginia Tech 8-0 in their second game of the Mountain State Invitational.  Ashley Keen (6-4) picked up the win.  She scattered 4 hits and struck out one.  Tammie Jo Coleman, Kristi Barka, and Britney Bayless had 2 hits apiece as the Bears pounded out 12 in the game.  Tara Walker hit her 3rd homerun of the season.  
 
April 10 vs. Bluefield State (@ Mountain State)
Shawnee State defeated Bluefield State 8-0 in six innings at the Mountain State Invitational.  Tammie Jo Coleman picked up the win in her first pitching performance of the year.  She allowed 4 hits and did not walk a batter.  Katie Wade, Megan Felts, and Britney Bayless had 2 hits apiece in the game.  Wade and Felts hit their 3rd and 4th homeruns respectively.
 
April 9 @ Ohio Dominican

Shawnee State lost a double-header to Ohio Dominican University.  Shawnee State lost the opener 8-1.  Rhonda Sacks (5-4) took the loss as she allowed 8 runs (7 earned) on 13 hits and 1 walk.  Shawnee State managed just 4 hits in the game.  The Bears had singles from Tammie Jo Coleman, Kristi Barka, and Britney Bayless.  SSU’s lone run came on a solo homerun off the bat of Ali Hull.  Ohio Dominican won the night cap 6-1.  Ashley Keen (5-4) took the loss.  She allowed 6 runs (2 earned) on 8 hits.  She did not allow a walk or record a strike out.  The Bears collected just 3 hits in the game, 2 of which came off the bat of Britney Bayless.  Tammie Jo Coleman had SSU’s only other hit.

 
April 5 vs. Cedarville

Shawnee State University Softball Team lost a double-header to Cedarville University.  Shawnee State lost the opener 5-4 in 13 innings.  SSU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning.  Cedarville tied the game on a pair of unearned runs in the third inning.  SSU took a 3-2 lead on an Ali Hull single in the fifth inning.  Cedarville tied the game in the top of the seventh on a double steal.  Both teams had chances to win the game over the next five innings, but were unable to score until Cedarville crossed the plate twice in the top of the 13th inning.  SSU scored 1 run to cut the deficit to 5-4, but was unable to tie the game. Rhonda Sacks (5-3) took the loss.  She allowed 5 runs (3 earned) in 13 innings.  She gave up 18 hits and 5 walks.  Natalie Fox (8-3) picked up the win.  She gave up 4 earned runs on 13 hits and 3 walks.  Tammie Jo Coleman was 4 for 7 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.  Kristi Barka and Ashley Adkins had 3 hits each.  Cedarville won Game 2 y a score of 4-3.  The Yellow Jackets scored 3 runs in the top of the first inning.  SSU scored once in the fourth and twice in the fifth to tie the game.  Cedarville scored the game-winning run in the sixth on an RBI single by Kailin Acheshon.  Ashley Keen (5-3) took the loss.  She gave up 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits and 1 walk.  Allison Smith (6-1) picked up the win.  She allowed 3 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk.  Katie Wade and Tara Walker had 2 hits each in the game.  

 
March 31 vs. Wilmington

Shawnee State swept a double-header from Wilmington College by scores of 10-0 and 8-0.  Rhonda Sacks (5-2) picked up the win in the opener.  She allowed just 2 hits in the game, both coming in the 5th inning.  Mallory Gibson (0-6) took the loss.  Shawnee State belted out 11 hits in the game including homeruns from Katie Wade and Tara Walker.  Wade, Ashley Adkins, and Kristi Barka had 2 hits apiece in the game.  Barka and Wade had 2 RBI’s each.  Ashley Keen (5-2) picked up the win in the night-cap.  She scattered 4 hits over the course of 5 innings.  Christina Cheek (0-1) took the loss as she allowed 4 runs and did not get out of the 1st inning.  Tammie Jo Coleman and Ashley Adkins collected 2 hits each.  Adkins and Katie Wade drove in 2 runs each.  

 
March 24 @ West Florida
Shawnee State lost a double-header to the University of West Florida by scores of 8-0 and 7-0.  Rhonda Sacks took the loss in the opener as she gave up 8 runs (6 earned) on 7 hits and 2 walks.  Shawnee State did not get a hit in the game.  Ashley Keen took the loss in the night-cap.  She gave up 7 runs on 12 hits and 3 walks.  Kristi Barka had 2 hits in the game.
 
March 23 vs. Olivet Nazarene (@ UWF)
Shawnee State swept a double-header from Olivet Nazarene by scores of 7-3 and 8-5.  Rhonda Sacks picked up the win in the opener as she allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits while striking out two.  SSU had 2 hits apiece from Kristi Barka, Ali Hull, Megan Felts, Ashley Adkins, and Tara Walker.  Adkins drove in 3 runs on the day.  Ashley Keen picked up the win in Game 2.  She allowed 5 runs on 10 hits and 2 walks and struck out two.  Barka, Hull and Walker had 2 hits each.  Walker and Katie Wade each had homeruns for the Bears.  
 
March 21 vs. Huntington (@ UWF)

Shawnee State split a double-header with Huntington College at the University of West Florida Spring Fling.  Rhonda Sacks (3-1) took her first loss of the season as Huntington won the opener 3-2.  Sacks allowed 3 unearned runs on 7 hits.  She struck out 7 and allowed 2 walks.  Shawnee State managed just five hits in the game.  Two of those were doubles by Tara Walker.  Ashley Keen (3-1) picked up the win as SSU rebounded to take Game 2 by a score of 3-0.  It is Keen's second straight shut out.  She allowed just 1 hit while striking out five.  She did not walk a single batter.  Megan Felts provided all of the Bears' offense.  She clubbed two homeruns and drove in all 3 SSU runs in the game.  Her two homers were SSU's only hits in the contest. 

 
March 19 vs. Grandview (@ UWF)
Shawnee State swept a double-header from Grandview College by scores of 5-1 and 2-0 at the University of West Florida Spring Fling.  Rhonda Sacks picked up the win in the opener.  She allowed 1 run on 6 hits over the course of 7 innings.  She struck out 2 and did not allow a walk.  Tammie Jo Coleman, Kristi Barka, Megan Felts, and Tara Walker had 2 hits apiece in the game.  Ashley Keen drove in 3 runs.  Keen picked up the win in the night-cap.  She scattered 4 hits and did not allow a run.  SSU had 1 hit each from Coleman, Barka, Felts, Ali Hull, and Nikki Moore.  Both of SSU's runs came on RBI's from Walker and Keen in the 2nd inning. 
 
February 27 vs. Bluefield State

Shawnee State swept a pair of 3-2 ballgames from Bluefield State .   Rhonda Sacks (2-0) picked up the win in the opener.  She allowed 2 unearned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks over 7 innings.  SSU picked up 7 hits including doubles from Ashley Adkins and Katie Wade.  Megan Felts and Nikki Moore had 1 RBI apiece.  Ashley Keene (1-1) picked up her first collegiate win in the night cap.  She allowed 2 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings.  Rhonda Sacks picked up her first save of the season.  She entered the game in the 6th inning with runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out.  The runners advanced on a grounder to first base.  She retired the next two batters on routine infield pop-ups to escaped the inning with the Bears ahead 3-2.  Shawnee State had 8 hits in the game including a homerun by Megan Felts.  

 
February 19 @ Spalding
Shawnee State split a double-header with Spalding University.  SSU won the opener 5-1.  Rhonda Sacks picked up the win allowing 1 run on 4 hits through 7 innings.  Shawnee State picked up 9 hits in the game including 3 by freshman Ashley Keene.  She also drove in 2 runs in the game.  Spalding scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to win 5-4 in the night cap.  Katie Wade was 3-4 in the game for SSU.  Tammie Jo Coleman, Megan Felts, and Ashley Keene had 2 hits apiece.  Keene took the loss in the game giving up 5 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits and 4 walks.  She did not retire a batter in the 7th inning.
