May 5 @ Notre Dame

Shawnee State closed out the 2002 season by sweeping a double-header from Notre Dame College by scores of 2-0 and 6-2.  Rhonda Sacks (12-10) picked up the win in the opener as she recorded her third shutout of the season.  She allowed just three hits and did not walk a batter.  Sacks and Megan Felts recorded two hits apiece in the contest.  Sarah Workman (7-7) picked up the win in game two.  She allowed two runs on seven hits.  Workman and Candice Tibbs had two RBI's each.  Workman, Felts, Carrie Kyne, Amanda Crawford, and Keri Bennett had two hits apiece.

 
May 4 @ Rio Grande
Shawnee State split a double-header with Rio Grande by scores of 5-0 and 3-1.  Rhonda Sacks (11-10) picked up the win in the opener as she tossed her second shutout of the season.  The Bears scored five times in the top of the seventh inning to break a 0-0 tie.  Kristi Coleman hit 3-run double to cap the scoring.  Sarah Workman (6-7) took the loss in game two as she allowed three runs on three hits.  Kristen Graham and Carrie Kyne had two hits apiece.
 
May 3 vs. Walsh 
Shawnee State split a double-header with Walsh University in their final home game of the season.  Walsh won the opener by a score of 5-3.  Rhonda Sacks (10-10) took the loss as she gave up five runs (three earned) on nine hits.  Carrie Kyne and Kerri Bennett had two hits each in the game.  Sarah Workman picked up the win in the Bears' 8-2 victory in game two.  She allowed two runs on nine hits.  The Bears crossed the plate seven times in the sixth inning to break open a one-one ballgame.  Kristen Graham was three-for-four on the day with two runs scored and one RBI.  Megan Felts hit a three-run homer (her eighth) in the inning.  Felts, Carrie Kyne, and Sarah Workman had two hits apiece.
 
April 27 vs. St. Vincent

Shawnee State University swept a double-header with St. Vincent College.  The Bears won the opener by a score of 7-0 behind a strong pitching performance from Rhonda Sacks (10-9).  She allowed just three hits in the game and retired 13 consecutive batters during one stretch.  Keri Bennett was three-for-four on the day with two runs scored.  Candice Tibbs, Kristi Coleman, and Megan Felts had two hits apiece.  Sarah Workman (5-6) picked up the win in the nightcap.  She allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits.  Keri Bennett and Kristi Coleman had two hits apiece.  

 
April 25 vs. Urbana

Shawnee State split a double-header with Urbana University on Thursday afternoon.  Urbana took game one by a score of 3-1.  SSU rebounded to take game two by a count of 7-4.  Rhonda Sacks (9-9) took the loss in game one.  She gave up three runs on eight hits.  The Bears managed just five hits in the game.  Sarah Workman (4-6) picked up the win in the nightcap.  She gave up four runs on nine hits.  Kristi Coleman was three-for-three in the game and drove in four runs.  Amanda Crawford had two hits, scored two runs, and had one RBI.  Candice Tibbs drove in two runs.

 
April 24 @ Ohio Dominican

Shawnee State University lost a double-header to Ohio Dominican College by scores of 12-0 and 9-2.  Rhonda Sacks (9-8) took the loss in game one as she gave up twelve runs in 5.0 innings.  Only three of the runs were earned, however, as the Bears committed three errors in the contest.  Ohio Dominican’s Melissa Wright recorded the first ever perfect game against Shawnee State.  She faced the minimum 15 batters and struck out six.  Sarah Workman (3-6) was the victim of poor defense once again.  The Bears committed three errors, which lead to seven of ODC’s nine runs.  Shawnee State did manage five hits in the game.  

 
April 20 vs. Carlow
Shawnee State swept a double-header from Carlow by scores of 8-4 and 11-1.  Rhonda Sacks (9-7) picked up the win in game one.  She worked 7.0 innings and allowed four runs on seven hits.  Megan Felts had three hits, an RBI, and scored two runs.  Keri Bennett had two hits.  Amanda Crawford pitched to one batter in the 7th inning.  She became the first SSU player to play all nine positions during her career.  She gave up a walk on four pitches.  Sarah Workman (3-5) got the win in game two.  She allowed one run on five hits.  Megan Felts had three hits including a double and a homerun.  She drove in four runs and scored three.  Katie Gunnoe was two-for-two with two runs scored.
 
April 19 vs. Seton Hill
Shawnee State swept Seton Hill by scores of 5-1 and 4-2 to snap a five-game losing skid.  Rhonda Sacks (8-7) picked up the win in game one as she allowed just one run on two hits.  Amanda Crawford had two hits and scored two runs.  Keri Bennett and Candice Tibbs drove in two runs apiece.  Sarah Workman (2-5) got the win in game two.  She allowed two runs on six hits.  Megan Felts, Keri Bennett, and Kristi Coleman had two hits each in the contest.
 
April 18 vs. Mt. Vernon

Shawnee State dropped a double-header to Mt. Vernon Nazarene College.  The Bears lost game one by a score of 9-8 in 10 innings.  They fell 5-3 in 8 innings in game two.  Rhonda Sacks (7-7) went the distance in the opener.  She gave up nine runs (seven earned) on sixteen hits.  Kristi Coleman had four hits on the day including two doubles.  Carrie Kyne had three hits.  Amanda Crawford, Candice Tibbs, and Sacks had two hits apiece.  The game entered extra innings tied at four.  Each team scored four runs in the 8th inning.  Mt. Vernon scored the winning run in the top of the ninth.  Sarah Workman (1-4) took the loss in game two.  She worked eight innings and gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits.  Kristin Graham had three hits and Kristi Coleman added two.  The Bears left eleven runners on base in the contest.

 
April 15 vs. Tiffin
Shawnee State lost a double-header to league-leading Tiffin University.  The Bears lost game one by a 5-3 count.  Rhonda Sacks (7-6) took the loss as she gave up five runs (three earned) on ten Tiffin hits. SSU got three runs on seven hits including a homerun from Megan Felts.  Tiffin drilled Shawnee in the night-cap by a score of 13-5.  Sarah Workman (1-4) worked just 1+ innings and gave up 6 runs on 6 hits and one walk.  Megan Felts gave up seven runs on eight hits in three innings of work.  Felts hit her third homerun in three games.  Amanda Crawford hit a three-run shot.  
 
April 12 vs. Cedarville
Shawnee State split a double-header with Cedarville University by scores of 5-1 and 2-6.  SSU won the first game behind the pitching of Rhonda Sacks (7-5) and the hitting of Megan Felts.  Sacks allowed just three hits and one unearned run over 7.0 innings.  Felts drove in all five of Shawnee State's runs.  She had a two-run single in the first inning, and a three-run homer in the third.  Sarah Workman gave up four runs on four hits in 1.2 innings in game two.  Megan Felts worked the final 5.1 innings and allowed two runs on two hits.  The Bears managed just four hits in the game including a homerun by Amanda Crawford.
 
April 11 @ Malone
Shawnee State split a double-header with Malone College.  SSU lost game one by a score of 4-5.  Rhonda Sacks (6-5) took the loss as she gave up five runs (three earned) over six innings.  SSU managed just four hits in the contest.  Shawnee State bounced back as they took game two by a score of 7-2.  Sarah Workman (1-2) picked up the win  as she allowed just two runs despite giving up twelve hits.  Kristin Graham, Keri Bennett, Carrie Kyne, and Amanda Crawford each had two hits in the game. Megan Felts hit her second homerun of the season.
 
April 6 @ Geneva

The Bears clobbered Geneva by a score of 9-3 in the opener on Saturday.  Sacks (6-4) once again picked up the win.  She allowed three runs (none earned) as she scattered six hits over seven innings.  Carrie Kyne was 4-for-4 in the game with 3 RBI's.  Megan Felts hit her first career homerun.  Felts (0-3) pitched well in the night-cap, but the Bears came up on the short end of a 2-1 game.  Felts allowed just four hits and one base on balls.  

 
April 5 @ Point Park
SSU won game one against Point Park by a score of 6-3.  Rhonda Sacks picked up the win as she allowed three runs on seven hits.  She struck out a career-high five batters and gave up just one walk.  Kristen Graham and Amanda Crawford each had two hits.  Sarah Workman (0-2) took the loss in game two as the Bears fell 6-3.  She allowed six runs (all earned) in the sixth inning.  The Bears scored three in the top of the seventh but the rally came up short.  Kristi Coleman had three hits in three trips to the plate.
 
March 29 vs. Missouri-Rolla (@ West Florida)
Shawnee State completed their Florida trip with a 10-inning loss to Missouri-Rolla.  SSU took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 10th only to fall by a final score of 4-3.  Sarah Workman worked 7 innings and allowed 2 runs on 10 hits.  Rhonda Sacks worked the final 3 innings and took the loss.  Keri Benett was 2 for 5 and scored 2 runs.  Carrie Kyne had 2 hits and 2 RBI.
 
March 29 vs. Faulkner (@ West Florida)
Shawnee State defeated Faulkner University 3-2 at the West Florida Spring Fling.  Rhonda Sacks gave up 2 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings of work.  Kerri Bennett and Carrie Kyne had 2 hits apiece.  Megan Felts drove in 2 runs.
 
March 28 vs. Valdosta (@ West Florida)
Valdosta University thumped SSU 8-0 in a six-inning game in West Florida.  Kristen Graham had the Bears' only hit in the game.  Sarah Workman was tagged with the loss for SSU.
 
March 28 vs. Olivet Nazarene (@ West Florida)
Shawnee State lost a 4-1 game to Olivet Nazarene at the West Florida Spring Fling.  Rhonda Sacks took the loss as she gave up 4 runs (1 earned) over 7 innings.  SSU committed 3 errors in the contest.  Carre Kyne and Megan Felts had 2 hits apiece.
 
March 27 vs. Georgia College and State University (@ West Florida)
Shawnee State defeated Georgia College and State University by a score of 7-1.  Rhonda Sacks picked up the win as she allowed just 4 hits and 1 run over 7 innings.  Carrie Kyne was 3 for 4 on the day.  Katie Gunnoe and Krisi Coleman picked up 2 hits apiece.  Coleman also scored twice.  Kristen Graham had 3 RBI.
 
March 27 vs. Lindenwood (@ West Florida)
Shawnee State defeated Lindenwood University 8-2 at the West Florida Spring Fling.  Rhonda Sacks picked up the win as she allowed just 2 hits and 2 runs in 7 innings of work.  Kristi Coleman was 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in.  Candace Tibbs added 3 hits and 2 RBI.
 
March 25 vs. Olivet Nazarene (@ West Florida)
Shawnee State was blanked 2-0 by Olivet Nazarene at the West Florida Spring Fling.  Rhonda Sacks pitched well as she gave up just 4 hits and 2 runs (1 earned), however, the Bears managed just 5 hits in support of the freshman pitcher.  Katie Gunnoe had 2 of the Bears' hits.
 
March 25 vs. William Woods (@ West Florida)
Shawnee State split a double-header with William Woods University on Day 2 of the West Florida Spring Fling.  SSU won Game 1 by a score of 4-3 behind the pitching of Rhonda Sacks.  Sacks gave up 8 hits and 4 runs (1 earned) over 7 innings.  Kristen Graham had 2 hits and 1 RBI in the contest.  William Woods bounced back in Game 2 as they spanked the Bears 11-4.  Megan Felts was tagged with the loss as she gave up 6 runs (4 earned) without retiring a single batter.  Sarah Workman pitched the remainder of the game and allowed 5 runs on 10 hits.  Carrie Kyne was 3 for 4 on the day with an RBI.  Kerri Bennett added 2 hits.
 
March 24 vs. Lindenwood (@ West Florida)
Shawnee State opened the 2002 campaign at the West Florida Spring Fling by losing a double-header to Lindenwood University.  SSU lost Game 1 by a score of 2-0.  Rhonda Sacks gave up 2 runs (1 earned) in her first collegiate start.  SSU managed just 1 hit by Megan Felts.  The Bears lost Game 2 by a 4-3 count.  Megan Felts was tagged with the loss as she gave up 3 runs and 4 hits in 6 1/3 innings of work.  The Bears had just 3 hits in the game.
