October 29 vs. Mount Vernon

Shawnee State lost to Mount Vernon 5-1 to close out the season.  Isaac Wooten scored SSU’s only goal of the game at the 12:54 mark of the game.  Ryan Appell and Chris Shaffer assisted the goal.  Mt. Vernon out shot the Bears 18-7 in the game.  SSU’s Jonathon Venters recorded 5 saves.  Mt. Vernon’s Jordan Knight recorded 3 saves. 

 
October 26 @ Rio Grande

Shawnee State lost to #1 ranked Rio Grande 8-1.  Rio Grande has not lost in 106 games.  Shawnee State tied the game at 1-1 in the 22nd minute on a goal by Daniel Ross.  Rio Grande then went on a scoring spree with 3 goals in 7 minutes to take a 4-1 halftime lead.  Rio Grande scored 4 in the second half for the game's final margin.

 
October 18 vs. Malone

Shawnee State Lost to Malone 2-1 in the 2nd overtime.  Isaac Wooten scored the only goal for the Bears on an assist from Kevin Hay six minutes into the game.  Malone’s only goal in regulation came from Alex Ferrandex on an assist from Rick King at the 20:03 mark of the game.  The winning goal of the game with less than 30 seconds left in the 2nd overtime period by Malone’s Rick King on an assist from Kevin Fischer.

 
October 15 @ Walsh

Shawnee State played to a 0-0 double overtime tie at Walsh University.  Walsh was ranked as high as 20th in the NAIA earlier in the season.  Walsh out shot Shawnee State 14-10.  Shawnee State's Jonathon Venters recorded 12 saves on the afternoon.  Shawnee State's defense turned away 12 corner kick opportunities for Walsh.

 
October 8 vs. Tiffin

Shawnee State lost to Tiffin 5-6. Shawnee State’s Gonzalo Perez-Beck had a record-breaking day. Perez-Beck broke Shawnee State’s record for goals in the game scoring 4 and points in the game totaling 9.  Perez-Beck scored the first goal of the game at the 3:17 mark on an assist from Ryan Appell.  Tiffin scored three goals; 2 by Moe Karanouh and 1 by Chad Smith.  Perez-Beck scored his second goal of the game on an assist from Blake Shelton and scored again unassisted to end the first period.  SSU’s Robbie Lyon scored on an assist from Perez-Beck.  Tiffin scored three straight goals to take a 6-4 lead.  Perez-Beck scored the last goal of the game with 5 minutes to go to tally the final score of 6-5.  Tiffin out shot the Bears 28-9 in the game.  SSU’s Jonathon Venters recorded 8 saves. Tiffin’s Andy Mortek recorded 3.

 
October 4 @ Urbana

Shawnee State lost to Urbana 2-1.  Robbie Lyon scored Shawnee State’s only goal of the game on an assist from Gonzalo Perez-Beck.   Urbana out shot the Bears 16-9 in the game.  SSU’s Jonathon Venters recorded 15 saves.

 
October 1 @ Ohio Dominican

Shawnee State lost to Ohio Dominican 1-0.  ODU’s Ian Lacks scored the only goal of the game on an assist from Ryan Nelson at the 66:23 mark of the game.  Ohio Dominican out shot the Bears 23-3 in the game.  SSU’s Jonathon Venters recorded 9 saves.  Chris Eaken recorded 1 save for Ohio Dominican.

 
September 28 @ Marietta
Shawnee State lost to Marietta College 4-3 in overtime.  Marietta’s Felix Ntow scored the first goal of the game on an assist from Shawn Urbanek.  Marietta scored again, 4 minutes later, on a goal by Joel Nau from an assist from Bradley Baweja.  Shawnee State would get its first goal of the game with 20 minutes left in the first period on a goal by Clayton Cahall from an assist from Kevin Hay.  Marietta’s Carlos Recchia scored at the 30:56 mark of the first period tallying the first half score of 3-1.  Shawnee State would tie the score in the second period with goals by Gonzalo Perez-Beck and Kevin Hay to send the game into overtime.  In overtime, Carlos Recchia scored an unassisted goal to win the game.  Marietta College out shot Shawnee State 20-9.  SSU’s Isaac Wooten recorded 10 saves.  MC’s Thaddeus Cochran recorded 3 saves.
 
September 24 vs. Cedarville

Shawnee State fell to Cedarville 4-1.  Cedarville’s Ken Davis scored the first goal of the game at the 17:17 mark of the game on an assists from Jesse Fox.  Cedarville score again at the 32:27 mark with a goal by David Malpass on an assists from Josh Gelser.  Gonzalo Perez-Beck scored Shawnee State’s only goal of the game at the 52:24 mark on an assist by Kevin Hay.  CU’s Jesse Fox scored the last goal of the game on a penalty kick.  Cedarville out shot Shawnee State 17-9 in the game.  Shawnee State’s Jonathon Venters recorded 7 saves. 

 
September 22 @ Berea

Shawnee State dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to Berea College.  Shawnee State got off to bad start as Kurt Rininger scored an own goal for Berea just four minutes into the game.  Berea added another goal in the first period to take a 2-0 halftime lead.  Josh Keeney scored Shawnee State’s first goal 10:10 into the second period on an assist from Rininger.  Bryan Craft tied the game at 2 at the 29:36 mark of the second half on an assist from Gonzalo Perez-Beck.  Berea’s Gonzalo Garcia scored 9:16 into the overtime period.  Shawnee State had its chances tallying 21 shots and 21 corner kicks in the match.  Berea made the most of its 6 shots and had just 4 corner kicks. 

 
September 20 vs. Kentucky Christian

Shawnee State beat Kentucky Christian 8-1.  Josh Kenney scored the first goal on an assist by Kevin Hay just 38 seconds into the game.  Kevin Hay added three goals along with his assist.  He scored at the 17:35 mark on an assist by Josh Keeney.  Kevin added his two other goals within 13 seconds of each other, He scored at the 50:35 mark on another assist by Keeney and at the 50:48 mark.  Gonzalo Perez-Beck added a goal at the 55:17 mark on an assist by Keeney.  Ryan Appell and Christian Helfrich scored their first goals of the season and Markus Holtz scored the last goal of the match for the final margin of 8-1.  Isaac Wooten recorded 4 saves.

 
September 17 @ Point Park

Shawnee State lost a 2-1 decision to Point Park College.  Shawnee State’s goal came from Josh Keeney on an assist from Gonzalo Perez-Beck.  The match was tied at one at the half.  Point Park scored with just 15 minutes left to play in the match.  Perez-Beck missed a penalty kick that would have tied the game at two.

 
September 15 vs. Ohio Valley

It took Ohio Valley’s Matt Oakes just 10 seconds in overtime to find the back of the net and send the Scots to a 2-1 victory over Shawnee State.  Bryan Craft scored on an assist from Josh Keeney to give the Bears a 1-0 lead at 52:38.  Ohio Valley’s Shohei Tanno scored when Isaac Wooten was unable to corral a shot by Marwan Helal at 77:11. Shawnee State out shot Ohio Valley 19-18.  Isaac Wooten recorded 7 saves in goal for the Bears.  Bill Bloom had 6 saves for Ohio Valley. 

 
September 10 @ Georgetown
Playing without several starters, Shawnee State lost to Georgetown College 5-0.  The game marks the first time this season the Bears have suffered a shutout.  Georgetown out shot Shawnee State 25-7 on the day.  Isaac Wooten recorded 13 saves in the match.
 
September 9 @ Campbellsville
Campbellsville's goal as time expired sent Shawnee State to its third straight defeat on the young season.  Shawnee State lost to Campbellsville by a score of 4-3.  Shawnee State jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with goals from Josh Keeney and Daniel Ross.  Campbellsville scored two quick goals to send the teams to the locker room tied at two.  The game was tied at 3-3 when Campbellsville scored on a free kick as time expired.  The goal was allowed despite the clock being incorrectly stopped by the score keeper with 10 seconds remaining. 
 
September 6 vs. Kenyon

Shawnee State lost its home opener to Kenyon College by a score of 5-1.   Kenyon opened the scoring with a goal by Rubin Miller just 3:21 into the game.  Kenyon added another goal by Michael Dash at the 17:42 mark.  KC did not let up in the second period adding two goals before Shawnee State was able to score.  Shawnee State’s Markus Holtz scored the Bears’ only goal of the game at the 53:01 mark.  Kenyon’s Robert Schrock scored the last goal of the game for the final margin of 5-1.  Kenyon out shot SSU 19-4 in the contest.  SSU’s Isaac Wooten recorded 8 saves and Kenyon’s Elliot Forhan recorded 2 saves.   

 

August 25 @ West Virginia Wesleyan

Shawnee State its season opener to West Virginia Wesleyan College by a score of 5-1.  Shawnee State grabbed the lead early when Gonzalo Perez-Beck scored at the 3:15 mark of the first half.  The Bears held onto the lead until the 34:50 mark of the first half when WV Wesleyan’s Christian tied the game up.  WVWC added another goal 26 seconds later.  WV Wesleyan scored three goals in the second period to tally the final score.  WV Wesleyan out shot the Bears 20-6 in the contest.  SSU’s Jonathon Venters recorded 4 saves and WVWC’s George Rowley recorded 2 saves.
