Shawnee State wrapped up the 2006 season with a 4th
place finish at the AMC/NAIA Region IX Championship Tournament at
Apple Valley Golf Course. Malone College won the event for the
3rd straight year. The Pioneers shot a combined 885 over the
three-round tournament. Shawnee State shot a total of 932.
Jason VanDeusen carded a 231 to lead the Bears with a 15th place
finish. Drew Prater finished 19th overall with a score of 234.
Koby Vogler and David Mays shot 236 each to finish 25th and 26th
respectively. Jeff Evans struggled to a score of 255 and 60th
place finish. |

April 21 @ OSU-Lima Invitational |
|
Shawnee State finished 1st out of 16 teams at the OSU-Lima
Invitational at Hawthorne Hills Golf Club. Shawnee State shot
a season best team total 295. Jason VanDeusen shot a
career-best 70 to win the event by one stroke. Jeff Evans
fired a 73, also a career-high. Drew Prater shot a 74 and Koby
Vogler shot 78 to round out the scoring for Shawnee State.

April 17 - 18 @ Cedarville Invitational |
|
Shawnee State finished 5th out of 10 teams at the
Cedarville Invitational. Shawnee State shot a two-day total
652. Walsh University won the event with a score of 617.
Jeff Evans led the Bears with a 16th place finish. He shot an
83 at Beavercreek Golf Club on Monday. He followed up with a
76 at the Country Club of the North on Tuesday for a two-day score
of 159. Koby Vogler tied for 20th with a 161 (78-83).
David Mays shot 163 (84-79) to tie for 23rd. Nate Burgess
rounded out the scoring with a 164 (82-82) 25th place finish. |

April 14 - 15 @ Mt. Vernon Invitational |
|
Shawnee State finished 8th out of 10 teams at the Mt.
Vernon Invitational at Apple Valley Golf Course. Malone
College won the event with a score of 590. Mt. Vernon's Derek
Clark was the individual medalist with a 3-under 141.
Shawnee
State finished with a two-day score of 643. The Bears finished
behind 7 AMC teams on the same course where the AMC Championship
Meet will be played next week. Drew Prater's 158 (78-80) led
the Bears. He finished tied for 27th overall. Koby
Vogler tied for 35th with a 161 (78-83). Nate Burgess (84-80),
Jeff Evans (79-85), and David Mays (82-82) tied for 41st with scores
of 164. |

April 13 @ Campbellsville Invitational |
|
Shawnee State finished 4th out of 6 teams at the
Campbellsville Invitational at Old Silo Golf Course in Mt.
Sterling, KY. Shawnee State shot a team-score 318.
Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson tied atop the team standings
with scores of 298. Nate Burgess tied for 5th overall as
he tied his career-best round with a 74. Jeff Evans shot a
career-best 75 to finish 7th overall. Koby Vogler and
David Mays rounded out the scoring for SSU with an 81 and 82
respectively. Burgess and Evans were named to the
All-Tournament Team. |

April 10 @ Otterbein Invitational |
|
Shawnee State finished 6th out of 10 teams at the
Otterbein Invitational at the Columbus Country Club. Shawnee
State shot a two-round total 626. Otterbein won the event with
a six-over par 582. Koby Vogler led Shawnee State as he tied
for 22nd over all. He shot 154 (76-78) on the afternoon.
Drew Prater carded a 157 (81-76) to finish 29th. Nathan
Burgess shot 74-84 for a 158 total. His second round 84 was
despite a hole-in-one on the 206-yard par 3 9th hole. Jason
VanDeusen shot 75-85 for a 160 followed by David Mays' 165 (83-82). |

April 7 @ OU-Chillicothe Invitational |
|
Shawnee Sate won its first tournament of the year
with a team total 312 at the OU-Chillicothe Invitational.
Fifteen teams participated in the event. Koby Vogler was the
individual medalist with a one over par 73. Drew Prater carded
a 78 followed by Nathan Burgess with a score of 80. Jason
VanDeusen and David Mays each shot 81 to round out the scoring. |

March 31 @ Urbana Invitational |
|
Shawnee Sate finished 3rd out of 6 teams at the
Urbana Invitational. Shawnee State finished with a team
score of 317. Cedarville won the six-team event with a
team score of 311. Columbus State's John Williams was the
individual medalist with a score of 74. Shawnee State's Nate Burgess and Jason VanDeusen tied for third with a 76.
Drew Prater tied for 6th with a 77. David Mays tied for
15th with a score of 81. Jeff Evans (83) tied for 19th,
Drew Keller (84) tied for 24th, and Koby Vogler (86) tied for
27th. |

|
Shawnee State opened the 2006 season with a
second place finish in the SSU Invitational at the Elk’s Country
Club. Ohio Dominican won the six-team event. [FULL
RESULTS] Ohio Dominican
carded a 594 to win the event by twenty strokes. ODU’s Todd Suman
was the individual medalist with a two-day total 147. Shawnee State’s Koby
Vogler, a freshman, tied for second with a 148 (78-70). His round
of 70 on Monday was the lowest round of the tournament. Jeff Evans
tied for 8th with a 155 (78-77). Nathan Burgess (77-79)
and David Mays (78-78) tied for 10th with scores of 156. |

September 23 @ Urbana Fall Invitational |
|
Shawnee State finished 3rd out of 6 teams at the
Urbana Fall Invitational. Shawnee State finished with a team
score of 314. Tiffin won the event with a 304. Urbana
placed second with a score of 310. Nate Burgess led Shawnee
State with a 76 on the day. Drew Prater carded a 78 followed
by Koby Vogler with a 79. David Mays shot an 81 to round out
the scoring for the Bears. |

September 11 - 12 @ Glenville Fall Classic |
|
Shawnee State placed 10 out of 12 teams at the
Glenville Fall Classic at South Hills. Shawnee State shot a
two-day total of 621 (313+308) on the 6,442, par 71 course.
Sophomore Drew Prater led the Bears with a 18th place overall
finish. He carded a two-day total of 151 (78+73). David
Mays tallied 154 (76+78) and Koby Vogler tallied 155 (74+81).
Nick Boggess carded a 161 (85+76) and Drew Keller shot 173 (88+85).

September 9 - 10 @ Ohio Valley Invitational |
|
Shawnee State placed 12 out of 16 teams at the Ohio
Valley Invitational at Woodridge Plantation. Shawnee State
shot a two-day total of 611 (308+303) on the 6,830 yard, par 71
course. Freshman Koby Vogler led the Bears with a 17th place
overall finish. He carded a two-day total of 147 (72+75).
Drew Prater shot 150 (77+73) and David Mays shot 158 (79+79).
Nate Burgess tallied a 159 (78-81) and Jeff Evans carded a 162
(76+86). |
