The Shawnee State Invitational is held each year at the Earl Thomas Conley Riverside Park. The 5 mile course is mostly flat with the exception of one short hill. It is a two lap course. Pikeville College's Alex Chemwolo set the event record with a time of 25:42 in 2003. The current course record of 27:36 was set in 2005 by Point Park's Jessie Bender.
