freshman recruit from Carrollton High School! I expect Larry
to make one of our returning top five runners to run #6! He
should run in the low 26:00 range and have a great year!"
2003 Season --
Larry had an impressive freshman season. His season best time
of 26:09 came at the Wilmington Invitational and earned him the
number five spot on the SSU Top 25 Fastest Times. His time was
also the
fastest time ever for a freshman. Larry was named 2nd Team All
AMC Conference and qualified for the NAIA National Championship with
the team. He had five top ten meet finishes and was named the
team's Outstanding Freshman Runner.
Carrollton High School -- Gardner
is a 3-time state qualifier. He
finished 8th in the State Championship Meet as a senior.
He twice earned All-State honors.
