2002 Cross Country

Craig Arnett
Freshman
Waverly, OH
Waverly High School

Coach's Comments -- Craig is one of the excellent new freshman XC recruits. He was clearly the most outstanding high school XC and track distance runner in Southern Ohio last year. He went to state competition in both XC and track. He will challenge for a top five spot on a strong returning squad. I expect him to run in the low 27:00 minute range this season.

2002 Season -- Craig ran a career best time of 26:49 at Wilmington.  He ran a solid number 4 all season long, and had four top-ten finishes.  He received the team's Outstanding Freshman Runner award.  He recorded two of the 25 fastest times in SSU history.

Waverly High School --  Craig was a four-time all-conference and all-district honoree.  He was the SOC champion twice.  He was named to the all-region team three times, and qualified for the state meet all four years of his high school career.   Arnett also ran track at Waverly.  He twice won SOC championships in the 1600 and the 3200.  He also won the 3200 event at the district and regional meets.
