Championship Meet (@ Rio Grande)
John Williams led
Shawnee State as he covered the 8000 meter course in a time of
26:56. He placed 19th overall and recorded the 4th fastest
time in SSU history. Adam Tolle placed 23rd and
recorded the 12th fastest time in school history (27:16) while
Brett LeMaster placed 25th overall with a time of 27:24.
Blake Jones and Trent Hyland rounded out the scoring.

Shawnee State Invitational
Shawnee State
placed 2nd out of 4 teams in the 4th Annual Shawnee State
Invitational. John Williams placed 3rd overall as he
recorded the 2nd fastest time ever recorded by a Shawnee State
runner (26:31). Adam Tolle finished 4th in 26:38, which
is the 3rd fastest time in SSU history. Blake Jones,
Brett LeMaster, and Ian Barnes rounded out the scoring for the
Bears.

Wilmington Fall Classic
Nine of ten runners
recorded season best times as SSU finished 3rd out of 12 teams
at the 9th Annual Wilmington College Fall Classic. John
Williams placed 4th overall as he became the first SSU runner
to break 27 minutes in a race. Williams covered the
5-mile course in 26:16. Blake Jones recorded the 4th
fastest time in SSU history as he finished in 27:06.
Brett LeMaster ranks 7th with a time of 27:10. Adam
Tolle ran 27:31 which places him 11th on the all-time list.

Legends
Shawnee State won
their third championship of the season as they captured 1st
place at the 26th Annual Legends meet in Ashtabula. The
Bears placed ahead of Lansing College, which had won the event
for the last 12 years. .Shawnee State's John Williams
covered the 5 mile course in 29:00 to take the overall meet
championship. Blake Jones (29:17) finished 2nd; Brett
LeMaster (29:34) placed 4th; and Adam Tolle (30:05) finished
8th. Trent Hyland placed 12 to round out the scoring for
the Bears.

Grande Invitational
Shawnee State
finished 3 out of 10 teams at the 31st Annual Rio Grande
Invitational. John Williams led the Bears with time of
27:03 and a 5th place finish. Williams' time is the
fastest in SSU history. Brett LeMaster gained 36 spots
after the 1st mile to finish 9th overall. His time of
27:27 is the sixth fastest ever recorded by an SSU
runner. Adam Tolle, Blake Jones, and Ian Barnes rounded
out the scoring for the Bears.

Greensboro Invitational
Shawnee State
finished 6th out of 17 teams at the Greensboro
Invitational. John Williams led the
men's team with an 8th place overall finish. He tied his
school record time of 27:05 in the event. Blake Jones finished
21st overall as he recorded the 9th fastest time in SSU history
(27:42). Adam Tolle, Brett LeMaster, and Ian Barnes rounded
out the scoring for the Bears.

Big Blue Challenge
Shawnee State
captured their second meet championship of the season as they
won the Big Blue Challenge in Camp Creek, WV. The Bears
recorded a perfect score (15) behind John Williams' record
setting time of 27:05. Blake Jones, Adam Tolle, Brett
LeMaster, and Ian Barnes rounded out the scoring for Shawnee
State. Every SSU runner recorded their personal best
time for the season.

Forest Festival Invitational
The
Shawnee State University Cross Country Teams took on a host of
NCAA Division II teams over the weekend at the Forest Festival
Invitational in Elkins, WV.
The Bears faired well, finishing 4th out of
12 teams. John
Williams paced the men’s team with a 13th place
finish.
He covered the mountainous 5-mile course in a time of
28:56.
Blake Jones finished 20th with a time of
29:15.
Adam Tolle, Brett LeMaster, and Ian Barnes rounded out
the scoring.

Kentucky Christian Invitational
Shawnee State
finished first out of four teams as they opened the 2001
season by capturing the Kentucky Christian Invitational.
Shawnee State took eight of the top ten places in the race
including first through third. John Williams covered the
long course in 29:15 to capture the first meet championship of
his career. Blake Jones, Adam Tolle, Brett LeMaster, and
Ian Barnes rounded out the scoring for the Bears.
