February 18 @ Walsh

Shawnee State lost to 6th ranked Walsh University 83-65 to wrap up its 2005-2006 season.  Justin Patrick led the Bears with 17 points on the day.  Terrence Davison added 11 points and Bryan Robinson had 10 points.  Davison ends his career as Shawnee State's all-time leading scorer with 1,689 points.  Derek Chappell led Walsh with 20 points.  Corey Jones had 14 points and Jason Hicks chipped in with 11 points.  Shawnee State shot 42% (25-59) from the field compared to Walsh's 51% (29-57).  Walsh was 11 of 22 from beyond the arc.  Shawnee State made just 4 of 15 three-pointers.

 
February 14 vs. Rio Grande

Shawnee State defeated The University of Rio Grande 73-67 in its final home game of the season.  Terrence Davison led the Bears with 22 points on the night.  Justin Patrick had 13 points and 11 rebounds.  Senior Kevin Cunningham had a career-high 15 points and was named the Dick Hyland Player of the Game.   Will Norwell led Rio Grand with 18 points.  Reggie Williamson, Rio’s Dick Hyland Player of the Game, had 15 points and 7 rebounds.  Travis Keefer chipped in with 14 points.   Both teams shot an identical 25 of 56 from the field for 44.6%.  Shawnee State held the advantage at the free throw line connecting on 17 of 27 attempts.  Rio Grande was 10 of 13 from the stripe.  Shawnee State out rebounded Rio Grande 38-32. 

 
February 9 vs. Wilberforce

Shawnee State defeated Wilberforce University 55-45.  Neither team shot well from the field.  Shawnee State managed to make just 20 of 54 shots for 37%.  Wilberforce had more turnovers (16) than field goals made (15).  The Bulldogs shot just 26.8% on the night.  Justin Patrick led the Bears with 14 points.  Terrence Davison had 10 points.  Dwight Cass was the only Bulldog to reach double-figures.  He had 13 points. 

 
February 7 @ Ohio Dominican

Shawnee State lost to Ohio Dominican University 79-62.  Justin Patrick led the Bears with a career-high 20 points.  He was 7 of 10 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free throw line.  He also had 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal.  He was the only Bear to reach double figures.  Austyn Covington had 19 points to lead Ohio Dominican.  TJ Johnson had 18 points and Donta Patterson added 17 points.  Shawnee State shot a respectable 46% (25-54) from the field.  Ohio Dominican, however, shot 55% (28-51) including 53% (8-15) from behind the three-point line.  The rebounds were even at 27 apiece. 

 
February 4 vs. Mt. Vernon

Shawnee State lost to Mt. Vernon Nazarene 85-82.  A great game was marred by a controversial call at the end.  With the score tied at 82, Mt. Vernon’s Ben Falkenberg drove the baseline to put up what would be the game winning shot.  He appeared to clear out with his forearm, but Justin Phillips was called for blocking.  Falkenberger made the free throw with 1.2 seconds remaining.  The Bears were unable to get a shot off before time expired.  Terrence Davison led the Bears with 23 points.  Justin Patrick had a career-high 15 points.  Billy Younger chipped in with 13 points.  Shaun Gunnell added a career-high 9 points.  Ryan Seesholtz led Mt. Vernon with 21 points and 11 rebounds.  Falkenberger had 19 points.  Andrew Thompson added 13 points. Both teams shot relatively well from the field.  Shawnee State was 30 of 67 from the field for 44.8%.  Mt. Vernon was 27 of 59 for 45.8%.  The Cougars made 10 of 22 shots from beyond the arc and 21 of 29 free throw attempts.  Shawnee State was 4 of 12 on three-pointers and 18 of 25 from the foul line.   

 
January 31 @ Urbana

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team lost to Urbana University by a score of 91-84.  Shawnee State held just two small leads and trailed by as many as 15 points with under eight minutes to play in the game before ultimately losing by seven. Terrence Davison led Shawnee State with 28 points on the night.  Justin Brinkman had 14 points and Justin Patrick had a career-high 12 points.  Antonio Davis had a career-high 36 points to go along with 11 rebounds.  Donald Suel added 14 points and Robert Harris chipped in with 12 points. Shawnee State shot 43% (32-74) from the field compared to 51% (30-59) for Urbana.  Urbana out rebounded Shawnee State 45-34.  Urbana held a significant advantage from the free throw line making 24 of 31 attempts.  Shawnee State was 14 of 20 from the foul line. 

 
January 28 @ Tiffin

Shawnee State lost at Tiffin 75-65.  Terrence Davison led the Bears with 21 points.  Bryan Robinson had 13 points.  Justin Patrick came off the bench with 10 points.  Ryan Pessell led Tiffin with 25 points.  Justin Butler added 19 points and Hernandez Skiver chipped in with 12 points.  The game was even in nearly all aspects except at the free throw line.  Both teams shot 45% from the field.  Shawnee State was 5 of 13 on three pointers compared to Tiffin connecting on 6 of 20 attempts from beyond the arc.  Tiffin out rebounded Shawnee State by a slim 38-31 margin.  Tiffin, however, connected on 19 of 27 attempts from the free throw line.  Shawnee State went to the line just 10 times converting on 4 attempts. 

 
January 24 vs. Cedarville

Shawnee State snapped a four-game losing skid with a 68-67 win over 16th ranked Cedarville University.  Shawnee State crept out to a 16-6 lead with 11:52 to play in the first half before Cedarville closed to within 25-22 at the break.  The Yellow Jackets took their first lead at 39-37 with 13:31 to play.  Cedarville built the lead to eight at 51-43 at the 9:58 mark.  Shawnee State then got a scoring boost from an unlikely trio.  Kevin Cunningham scored 9 points on three – 3-point field goals.  Allassondro Roberts scored 6 points on a mid-range jumper and four free throws.  Justin Phillips got in the act scoring 5 of his 7 points over during the final five minutes.   Despite the unexpected scoring, Cedarville maintained a 67-65 lead with 39 seconds to play.  Terrence Davison scored on a baseline drive and drew the foul with 12 seconds on the clock.  His free throw gave the Bears the one-point victory.  Davison led the Bears with 22 points.  He was the only Shawnee State player to reach double-figures.   Mugabe Thomas had 21 points and 13 rebounds for Cedarville.   Ryan Short and Guy Rathmell had 13 points apiece.  Shawnee State shot 43.5% on 27 of 62 attempts from the field.  Shawnee State’s seven 3-point field goals were the most in 10 games for the Bears.   Cedarville connected on 24 of 51 attempts from the field for 47%.  The Yellow Jackets were 6 of 22 from beyond the arc and just 13 of 21 from the free throw line. 

 
January 21 @ Wilberforce

Shawnee State lost to Wilberforce University 82-70.  Wilberforce took an 11-2 lead in the game's first 6 minutes as Shawnee State missed its first six shots, and missed ten of its first eleven shots.  The Bulldogs stretched the lead to 23 points with 3:48 to play at 80-57.  Shawnee State closed out the game on a 13-2 run.  Bryan Robinson led the Bears with 15 points on the evening.  Allassondro Roberts had 11 points.  The Bulldogs held SSU's leading scorer, Terrence Davison, to 8 points.  Antonn Melton led Wilberforce with 26 points.  Cameron Phillips had 12 points and Dwitgt Cass added 11 points and 6 rebounds.  Shawnee State shot just 34% (24-70) from the field compared to 64% (32-50) for Wilberforce. 

 
January 17 @ Rio Grande

Shawnee State lost its third straight game with a 76-66 set back to Rio Grande.  In a game that featured eight ties, Shawnee State twice led by as many as five points early in the first half.  A Brett Beucler 3-pointer gave Rio Grande a 44-43 lead with 13:44 to play in the game.  Rio then went on an 8-0 run to put the game away.  Terrence Davison led the Bears with 23 points and 6 rebounds.  Bryan Robinson scored 10 points before going down with an ankle injury mid way through the first half.  Reggie Williamson led Rio Grande with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  James Pattman, Brett Beucler, and Will Norwell had 11 points each.  Shawnee State connected on 27 of 65 attempts from the field for 41.5%.  Rio Grande was 23 of 52 for 44%.  The difference in the game came at the free throw line where Rio Grande connected on 22 of 35 attempts.  Shawnee State went to the line just 16 time and made 9 of those attempts.

 
January 14 @ Mt. Vernon

Shawnee State lost to Mt. Vernon Nazarene by a score of 90-64.  Shawnee State led 3-0 in the game's opening minute on a three-point play by Terrence Davison.  Consecutive three-pointers by Nick Zarley gave the Cougars the lead for good.  Shawnee State trailed by 17 at the half and by as many as 37 in the second half.  Terrence Davison led the Bears with 15 points.  Jason Patrick tied his career-high with 11 points.  Ben Falkenberg led Mt. Vernon with 27 points.  Ryan Seesholtz and Zarley had 15 points apiece.  Mark Hess chipped in with 13 points.  As a team, Shawnee State shot just 33% (24-72) from the field compared to 57% (34-60) for Mt. Vernon.  The Cougars were on fire from the outside draining 14 of 26 attempts beyond the arc for 54%.  Shawnee State out rebounded Mt. Vernon 46-35.

 
January 12 vs. Malone

Shawnee State lost to Malone College 79-65.  Shawnee State held a 42-38 lead with 15:47 to play in the game.  At that point, Malone went on a 22-2 run to take a 60-44 lead with 9:19 to play.  Shawnee State pulled to within seven at 67-60 at the 3:59 mark, but could never get closer.  Terrence Davison led Shawnee State with 19 points on the evening to give him 1,501 for his career and make him the school’s all-time leading scorer.  Aaron Mauk tied a career-high 11 points.  Justin Patrick added 10 points on the night.  Tyler Renner led Malone with 27 points and 12 rebounds.  Jesse Schlabach had 17 points.  Chris Miller added 12 points.  Shawnee State shot just 34.8% (23-66) from the field compared to 50.8% (31-61).  Malone scored 20 points off of 15 Shawnee State turnovers.   

 
January 10 vs. Ohio Dominican

Shawnee State picked up its second consecutive conference win with a 77-73 overtime victory over Ohio Dominican.  Ohio Dominican twice led by as many as 8 points in the first half before Shawnee State closed to within 33-32 at the break.  The game went back and forth throughout the second half with Shawnee State leading by as many as 7 points and Ohio Dominican holding the lead by as many as 5 points.  A free throw by Shawnee State Terrence Davison with 52 seconds to play tied the game at 65.  Each team had a good looks to win in regulation, but neither team could capitalize.  The game remained tied at 73 with 13 seconds to play.  Terrence Davison stole an Ohio Dominican in-bounds pass and was quickly fouled.  He sank both free throws to secure the win for the Bears.  Terrence Davison led Shawnee State with 28 points on the night.  Eight of those came in the overtime period.  For the game, he was 11 of 17 from the field, 1 of 2 on three-pointers, and 5 of 7 from the foul line.  He added 6 rebounds and 3 assists.  Bryan Robinson added 10 points for the Bears.  Donta Patterson led Ohio Dominican with 20 points.  Austyn Covington had 17 points and 8 rebounds.  Kevin Nye added 13 points off the bench.  As a team, Shawnee State shot 45.5% (30-66) from the field.   The Bears were 3 of 5 from beyond the arc and 14 of 23 from the foul line.  Ohio Dominican connected on 29-53 from the field for 54.7%.  ODU was 6 of 9 on three-pointers.  The Panthers were an abysmal 9 of 27 from the free throw.  Ohio Dominican out rebounded Shawnee State 41-35.   

 
January 7 vs. Tiffin

Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team defeated Tiffin University 78-69.  Shawnee State, which never trailed in the game, jumped out early and built a 47-31 halftime lead.  SSU built the lead to 60-41 with 13:52 to play.  Tiffin chipped away at the lead and closed to within 75-69 with 28 seconds remaining.    Shawnee State made their free throws down the stretch to preserve the win.  Terrence Davison led Shawnee State with 27 points.  He was 7 of 11 from the field including 6 of 7 from beyond the arc.  He connected on 7 of 10 attempts from the free throw line.  Bryan Robinson added 16 points and 16 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double.  Deonte Murphy led Tiffin with 18 points.  Ryan Fessell added 14 points and 6 rebounds.  Hernandez Skiver had 12 points.  As a team, Shawnee State shot an impressive 52% from the field connecting on 25 of 48 attempts.  Tiffin was 30 of 63 from the field for 47.6%.  Shawnee State out rebounded Tiffin 40-26.   

 
January 3 vs. Urbana

Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team blew an 18-point, second half lead and lost in overtime to Urbana University 66-61.  Shawnee State stretched a 30-19 halftime lead to a 39-21 advantage with 17:34 left in the game.  Urbana then went on a 23-1 run to take a 43-40 lead at the 11:21 mark.  Robert Harris led the charge scoring 10 of his 15 points during the stretch.  Shawnee State was 0-7 from the field during the stretch and committed 3 turnovers.  Urbana led by as many as 8 points before a Tyler Lough jumper gave the Bears a 57-55 lead with 3:08 to play.  SSU held the Ball and the lead by the same margin with 29 seconds to play.  Donald Suel picked off a Bryan Robinson pass and scored on a lay-up to tie the game.  Thomas Kluz’s attempt from under the basket was blocked by Zach Comer as time expired.  Urbana jumped out to a quick lead in the extra period and never trailed again.  Terrence Davison and Bryan Robinson led the Bears with 20 points apiece.  Robinson added a career-high 16 rebounds.  Antonio Davis led Urbana with 18 points.  Harris had 15 and Donald Suel chipped in with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Shawnee State shot just 32% (21-65) from the field compared to 45% (27-60) for Urbana.  Shawnee State won the rebounding battle 51-36.

 
December 17 @ Charleston

Shawnee State lost to NCAA Division II University of Charleston by a score of 87-61.  The Shawnee State defense struggled as Charleston made 34 of 65 attempts from the field for 52%.  UC also torched the nets from beyond the arc connecting on 10 of 25 three-point attempts for 40%.  Robert Strickland and Marquis Brooks led Charleston with 17 points apiece.  Terrence Davison led Shawnee State with 15 points.  Bryan Robinson chipped in with 12 points.  As a team, Shawnee State shot 41% from the field, connecting on 24 of 59 attempts.  The Bears managed to make just 1 three-pointer on 8 attempts. 

 
December 14 vs. UC-Clermont

Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 92-61 win over UC-Clermont.  Four Bears scored in double-figures on the night.  Bryan Robinson led the way with 14 points.  He was a perfect 7 of 7 from the field.  Thomas Kluz and Aaron Mauk 11 points apiece.   Terrence Davison chipped in with 10 points.  Billy Younger added 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.  Brad Hosler led UCC with 15 points and 15 rebounds.  Troy Girty had 13 points and Stefan Dunn had 11 points.  Shawnee State connected on 39 of 71 attempts from the field for 55%.  The Bears were 5 of 14 on three-pointers and 9 of 16 from the free throw line.  UC-Clermont managed to shoot just 33% (22-66) from the field and from beyond the arc (5-15).  Shawnee State dominated the glass 51-39.   

 
December 10 @ Cedarville

Shawnee State lost to 4th ranked Cedarville University 91-76.  Terrence Davison led Shawnee State with 23 points.  He passed Adam Davenport and Jay Hall to move into 2nd place on Shawnee State's all-time scoring list with 1,383 points.  Allassondro chipped in with 13 points.  Justin Patrick added a career-high 11 points.  Five Yellow Jackets scored in double-figures led by Ryan Short with 22 points.  Maicol Venter had 16 points.  Daniel Rose had 14 points.  Shawnee State shot a respectable 47.5% (28-59) from the field, but Cedarville scorched the nets connecting on 31 of 55 attempts for 56%.  Cedarville dominated the glass 40-28. 

 
December 7 @ Walsh

Shawnee State lost to defending National Champions and 10th ranked Walsh University 81-70.  Shawnee State jumped out to a 10-2 lead to start the game.  Walsh battled back to take a 31-29 lead at the half.  Walsh built the lead to as many as 7 before a Terrence Davison three-pointer tied the game at 45-45 with 12:09 to play.  Another Davison three-pointer gave the Bears a 50-49 lead just two minutes later.  Walsh took the lead for good on a Corey Jones three-pointer with 8:41 to play.  Terrence Davison led the Bears with a career-high 32 points.  He was 12 of 26 from the field including 4 of 9 from beyond the arc and 4 of 5 from the free throw line.  He also had a team-high 7 rebounds.  Thomas Kluz was the only other Bear in double-figures with 10 points.  Starting point guard Billy Younger sat out the game with an ankle injury.  Five Cavaliers scored in double-figures.  Jones led Walsh with 20 points.  Adam Lesch and Eder Araujo had 16 points apiece.  Shawnee State shot 41% (26-63) from the field including 40% (6-15) on three-pointers.  Walsh connected on 28 of 51 attempts from the field for 55%.  The Cavaliers were 7 of 14 from beyond the arc and 18 of 29 from the free throw line.  Walsh won the rebounding battle 38-31.

 
December 2 @ Notre Dame

Shawnee State lost to Notre Dame College 79-72.  Four Bears scored in double-figures.  Terrence Davison led the way with 15 points and 7 rebounds.  Allassondro Roberts had career-highs with 14 points and 9 rebounds.  Thomas Kluz had 12 points and Bryan Robinson added a career-high 10 points.  Kenny Burkes came off the bench to torch the Bears for 29 points.  He was 9 of 11 from the field including a perfect 4 of 4 from beyond the arc and 6 of 7 from the free throw line.  Jerome Pierce had 20 points.  Notre Dame shot 50% (29 of 58) from the field and drained 9 3-point field goals.  Shawnee State connected on 31 of 71 attempts from the field for 43.7%.  The Bears were just 2 of 14 from behind the 3-point line.  Shawnee State out rebounded Notre Dame 43-31.

 
November 29 @ Malone

Shawnee State snapped a five-game losing streak and opened American Mideast Conference play with a 70-65 win over Malone College.  Terrence Davison led all scorers with a career-high 31 points.  He was 12 of 19 from the field including 5 of 8 from beyond the arc.  He was 2 of 4 from the foul line.  Kevin McDonald had 15 points.  Billy Younger added 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Chris Miller led Malone with 10 points.  Shane Humphrey added 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Jesse Schlabach also had 13 points for the Pioneers.  Shawnee State shot a blistering 57% (27-47) from the field compared to just 38% (22-58) for Malone.  Shawnee State connected on 5 of 11 (45.5%) 3-point attempts while Malone was 5 of 21 for 24%.  The 5-point margin could have been much larger had the Bears taken advantage of opportunities from the free throw line.  Shawnee State managed to hit just 11 of 25 attempts from the line while Malone was 16 of 19 from the charity stripe. 

 
November 26 vs. Jackson State (@ Las Vegas)

Shawnee State lost to Jackson State in the final game of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational by a score of 75-66. 

Kevin McDonald led the Bears with career-highs of 23 points and 9 rebounds.  Billy Younger added 12 points and 9 rebounds.  Terrence Davison chipped in with 10 points.  Clinton Johnson led all scorers with 26 points.  Julius Young had 16 points.  Shawnee State connected on 27 of 64 field goal attempts for 42.4%.  Jackson State was 24 of 51 for 47.1%.  SSU was 3 of 12 on 3-pointers compared to 7 of 18 for JSU.  Shawnee State dominated the glass 43-29.  Shawnee State was 9 of 16 from the foul line while Jackson State was 20 of 28.

 
November 25 vs. Detroit (@ Las Vegas)
Shawnee State lost to NCAA D. I University of Detroit 56-51 in game 3 of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.  Shawnee State trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half before mounting a comeback.  The Bears closed to within 4 points with 15 seconds remaining.  Terrence Davison led all scorers with 20 points.  He was the only Bear to reach double figures.  Jon Goode led Detroit with 16 points.  Zach Everingham had 12 points for the Titans.  Neither team shot well from the field.  SSU was 18 of 46 for 39%.  Detroit connected on 19 of 48 attempts for 39.6%.  Shawnee State was 6 of 10 from beyond the arc for 60% compared to 47% (7-15) for Detroit.  Detroit out rebounded Shawnee State 32-26.
 
November 22 @ Drake

Shawnee State lost to Drake University 85-36 in the second game of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.  Terrence Davison was the lone Bear in double figures.  He had 13 points to go along with 3 rebounds.   Ajay Calvin led Drake with 16 points.  Brent Hemmskert and Sean Tracy had 11 points apiece for the Bulldogs.  Shawnee State shot just 21% (12-57) from the field compared to 52% (30-58) for Drake.  Drake was 20 of 30 from the foul line while Shawnee State connected on 8 of 10 attempts.  Drake scored 36 points on a season-high 26 Shawnee State turnovers

 
November 20 @ Boston College

Shawnee State lost to 11th ranked Boston College 70-51.  Shawnee State hung tough with BC and actually led 13-12 half way through the first period.  BC went on a 22-9 run to close out the half and take a 34-22 lead into the locker room.  BC stretched the lead to 20 with 10 minutes to play in the contest.  Boston College coach Al Skinner played his top 7 players until the final 3 minutes of the game.  Terrence Davison and Frank Hall had 10 points apiece to lead the Bears.  Davison added 7 rebounds and 4 assists.  Jared Dudley led BC with 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Sean Marshall had 16 points.  Craig Smith had 14 points and 13 rebounds.

 
November 15 @ Findlay

Shawnee State shot a season low 32.8% (19 of 58) from the field and suffered a 54-46 loss at The University of Findlay.  Shawnee State led throughout the first half, on several occasions by as many as 6 points.  The Bears led 23-21 at halftime.  Findlay, ranked 7th in NCAA Division II, took its first lead of the game at 26-25 just 2 ½ minutes into the second period.  Findlay held onto the lead most of the remainder of the game thanks to shooting 14 of 18 from the foul line in the second half.  For the game, Findlay was 18 of 28 from the line compared to just 8 of 13 for Shawnee State.  Shawnee State out rebounded Findlay 43-36.  The Oilers did not shoot much better than the Bears connecting on just 17 of 49 attempts for 34.7%.  Shawnee State was 0-8 from beyond the arc, while Findlay was 2 of 17.  Kevin McDonald and Terrence Davison led the Bears with 11 points apiece.  Billy Younger pulled down 11 rebounds.  Frank Phillips had 15 points and 6 rebounds for Findlay.  Dustin Pfeiffer chipped in with 14 points.  Shawnee State travels to 11th ranked Boston College on Sunday.  Game time is 2:00 p.m.

 
November 10 vs. Point Park

Shawnee State defeated Point Park University 84-78 in overtime.  Shawnee State led by as many as 9 points twice during the first half.  Point Park took the lead at 53-51 with 11:17 to play in the second half and did not relinquish it until Terrence Davison tied the game at 67 on a pair of free throws with 29 seconds to play.  Back-to-back 3-pointers by Thomas Kluz and Kevin Cunningham gave the Bears a 77-71 lead with 2:10 to play in overtime.  Shawnee State made 5 of 8 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.  Davison led the Bears with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Kevin McDonald had 14 points and 8 rebounds before fouling out with 3:06 to play in regulation.  Tyler Lough had 11 points off the bench.  Brian Robinson had 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Though he only scored 4 points, Billy Younger had 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals.  Chevis Whipple led Point Park with 36 points and 10 rebounds.  Ryne Liggins had 13 points and Mark Ferguson chipped in with 12 points for the Pioneers.  Shawnee State won the battle on the glass 49-37.  The Bears shot 50.7% compared to 42% for Point Park.

Shawnee State defeated Kentucky Christian 97-87 to close out the Kentucky Christian Invitational.  Both teams shot the ball well.  The Bears hit on 39 of 68 attempts for 57% while Kentucky Christian was 29 of 61 for 47.5%.  KCU was 17 of 31 from beyond the arc compared to 4 of 7 for Shawnee State.  Shawnee State pounded KCU on the boards 52-23.  Justin Brinkman led the Bears with 15 points and 8 rebounds.  Terrence Davison and Billy Younger had 14 points each.  Thomas Kluz chipped in 10 points. 
 
November 4 vs. Alice Lloyd (@ Kentucky Christian)
Shawnee State defeated Alice Lloyd 75-69.  Terrence Davison led all scorers with 22 points on the day.  Billy Younger and Justin Brinkman had 11 points each for the Bears.  KJ Waterman led Alice Lloyd with 19 points.  Jeremy Daniels had 16 points.  Shawnee State shot 45% (26-58) from the field compared to just 37.5% (24-64) for Alice Lloyd.  The Bears out rebounded Alice Lloyd 51-30.
 
November 3 vs. Lambuth (@ Kentucky Christian)
Shawnee State lost its season opener on a buzzer beater at the Kentucky Christian Invitational on Thursday evening.  Lambuth’s Chris Cole hit a shot over top of a double team as time expired to give his team a 75-74 victory over the Bears.   Shawnee State led throughout most of the second half, and on several occasions led by as many as seven.  The wheels came off when SSU’s Kevin McDonald fouled out with 2:05 to play.  The ensuing free throws pulled Lambuth to within one point.  Lambuth eventually led by as many as three.  With the Bears trailing by one, Terrence Davison was fouled with 15 seconds to play.  He knocked down both free throws and put the Bears in position to win.  SSU’s Justin Brinkman slapped the ball away from a Lambuth player, but Chris Cole tracked down the loose ball and fought through a double team to get the shot off as time expired.  Terrence Davison led the Bears with 19 points on the night.  Kevin McDonald added 16 points in his Bears debut.  Billy Younger had 10 points.  Chris Cole had 18 points for Lambuth.  Curtis Lincoln had 13 points and Lamar Farr chipped in with 11 points.
