March 1 vs. Rio Grande

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team lost 63-56 to The University of Rio Grande in the finals of the American Mideast Conference Tournament.  With the game tied at 56, Rio Seth Deerfield drained a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 30 seconds left in the game.  Antwain Lavender drew a great deal of contact on his attempt to tie the game with 9.8 seconds left.  There was no call on the play and Rio grabbed the rebound.  Rio extended the lead as they canned 4 of 6 free throws over the final 8 seconds.  Adam Davenport led SSU with 22 points and 10 rebounds.  Antwain Lavender added 14 points.  Jerry Barlow led Rio Grande with 22 points.  Twenty of those came in the second half.  Seth Deerfield had 14 points and Chris Ballenger added 13 points.  Shawnee State shot just 36% (20-55) from the field compared to 40% (19-47) for Rio Grande.  Rio Grande connected on 16 of 28 attempts from the free throw line compared to 12 of 14 for Shawnee State.  

 
February 28 vs. Walsh

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team defeated Walsh University 94-91 in overtime to advance to the finals of the American Mideast Conference Tournament.  Antwain Lavender led Shawnee State with 38 points.  He played all but the final 5 seconds of the game.  He connected on 10 of 16 from the field including 8 of 12 from beyond the arc.  He also hit 10 of 11 from the free throw line.  Delano Thomas had 20 points, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 5 assists.  Jason Burston had 15 points and Jeff Fraley added 10.  J. R. Ogletree led Walsh with 28 points.  Jason Hamilton had 27 points and 7 rebounds.  Jerome Sandifer recorded a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds.  Shawnee State trailed by as many as 10 in the second half.  They trailed by 6 with 26.7 seconds remaining in regulation.  Jason Burston, a 21% shooter from beyond the arc, nailed a 3-pointer to cut the lead to three.   Walsh turned the ball over and Kevin Cunningham nailed a 3-pointer on his only shot attempt in the game, to tie it at 85 with 5 seconds remaining.  Walsh again committed a turnover on the in bounds play to give the Bears a chance to win in regulation.  Antwain Lavender missed a 3-point attempt from the top of the key, and Delano Thomas missed the tip-in to send the game to OT.  Shawnee State held the 94-91 lead with 4.9 seconds in the extra period when Jeff Fraley blocked Jason Hamilton’s 3-pointer to seal the game for the Bears.  

 
February 25 vs. Roberts Wesleyan

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team knocked off Roberts Wesleyan College 89-70. Six players scored in double figures for the Bears.  Adam Davenport led all scorers with 19 points on the night.  Delano Thomas had 15 points and 19 rebounds.   Jeff Fraley added 14 points.  Antwain Lavender, Terrance Davison, and Curt Grimes had 10 points apiece.  Lavender added 10 assists on the night. James Floyd led the Raiders with 17 points on the night.  Dave Rudy had 16 points and Matt Lipiska added 11 points. Shawnee State shot 50% (33-66) from the field, including 38% (9-24) from beyond the arc.  Roberts Wesleyan shot just 39% (27-70) from the field.  Shawnee State tallied 18 assists while committing just 6 turnovers. 

 
February 22 vs. Notre Dame 

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team closed out the regular season and snapped a four game losing streak with a 92-60 win over Notre Dame College. Jeff Fraley led the Bears with 28 points on 9 of 15 shooting including 7 of 12 from beyond the arc.  Antwain Lavender added 15 points.  Adam Davenport and Delano Thomas had 12 points each.  Thomas added 13 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Niles Wadley led the Falcons with 16 points.  He was the only player to reach double figures for Notre Dame. As a team, the Bears shot 32 of 57 from the field for 56%.  They were 14 of 24 from behind the 3-point line for 58%.  Shawnee State dominated the glass, grabbing 45 rebounds to Notre Dame’s 26. 

 
February 21 @ Cedarville

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team lost their 4th straight game as they fell to 11th ranked Cedarville University 84-58.  Antwain Lavender and Delano Thomas led the Bears with 12 points apiece.  Jason Burston added 11 points for SSU. Six players scored in double figures for the Yellow Jackets.  Mugabe Thomas led the way with 15 points.  Barry Chamberlain and Justin Lower scored 12 points each. As a team, the Bears shot 42% (21-50) in the contest compared to 52% (33-64) for Cedarville.  Cedarville won the battle of the boards 35-31.  The Yellow Jackets committed 13 turnovers to the Bears’ 19.  

 
February 15 vs. Malone

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team dropped their third straight game as they lost to Malone College 88-81.  Shawnee State trailed by as much as 22 points in the second half before they cut the lead to 5 with 1:21 remaining.  The Bears could not close the margin any further.  Adam Davenport led the Bears with 22 points and 17 rebounds.  Antwain Lavender and Jeff Fraley had 15 points apiece.  Terrance Davison added 14 points.  Seth Coblentz led Malone with 31 points on the night.  He came into the game averaging just 9.6 per game.  Jason Hess had 16 points and 13 rebounds.  Shane Conwell added 13 points.   

 
February 11 @ Rio Grande

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team lost to The University of Rio Grande 59-48.  Jason Burston led the Bears with a career-high 16 points on the night.  Delano Thomas was the only other Bear to reach double figures with 14 points.  He also grabbed 9 rebounds.  Seth Deerfield and Chris Ballenger led Rio Grande with 17 points apiece.  The Bears struggled horribly on both ends of the floor.  SSU shot just 29% from the floor as they connected on 20 of 69 field goal attempts.  They were even worse from beyond the arc as they hit just 2 of 17 3-point field goal attempts for 12%.  On the other end of the floor, Rio Grande hit 54% of their shots from the field despite going 0 for 7 from behind the arc.  Rio also hit 19 of 27 attempts from the free throw line compared to just 6 of 10 for the Bears. 

 
February 8 @ Geneva

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team stepped out of conference play as they traveled to 22nd ranked Geneva College on Saturday afternoon.   Geneva defeated SSU 76-61.  Shawnee State falls to 17-10, while Geneva improves to 16-9.  Delano Thomas and Adam Davenport led the Bears with 19 points apiece.  They were the only Bears to reach double figures.  Stefan Grundberg led the Golden Tornadoes with 21 points and 10 rebounds.  Matt Small chipped in with 13 points.  Jerome Moss and Tim Sawyer added 11 points apiece.  Geneva dominated in almost every category.  They shot 47% compared to just 38% for SSU.  Geneva out rebounded SSU 39-29.  Shawnee State shot just 2 of 16 from beyond the arc, while Geneva hit on 8 of 23 attempts from beyond the arc.

 
February 6 vs. Cedarville

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team knocked off 8th ranked Cedarville University 67-66.  With the game tied 66-66 Shawnee State took the ball out of bounds at the far end of the court with 5.7 seconds remaining in the game.  Antwain Lavender drove the length of the floor and was fouled taking the ball to the rim with 1.0 second on the clock.  He hit the first free throw to seal the win for the Bears.  Lavender appeared to intentionally missed the second attempt, which Delano Thomas tipped out to half-court as time expired. Lavender and Jeff Fraley led the Bears with 18 points apiece.  Fraley connected on 6 of 7 3-point shots on the night.  Adam Davenport added 13 points.  Delano Thomas had 9 points and 11 rebounds. Mugabe Thomas led Cedarville with 28 points.  Drew Borton added 10 points on the night. As a team, the Bears shot 48% (24-50) from the field including 59% (10-17) from beyond the arc.  Cedarville shot 49% (27-55) overall, but just 25% (3-12) from beyond the arc. 

 
February 1 vs. Tiffin

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team lost an AMC match-up to Tiffin University 82-65.  Adam Davenport led the Bears with 18 points on the night.  Jeff Fraley had 16 points, all in the second half.  Delano Thomas had 13 points and 11 rebounds.   Todd Henry led Tiffin with 21 points.  He was 3 of 3 from behind the 3-point line and 12 of 13 from the free throw line.  Steve Beretich had 19 points.  Kenny Salway added 17 points and 12 rebounds.  Tiffin held a distinct advantage at the free throw line as they connected on 26 of 32 attempts for 81%.  By comparison, Shawnee State was just 10 of 17 from the free throw line for 59%.  Shawnee State shot 42% (24-57) from the field overall, and just 30% (7-23) from behind the 3-point line.  Tiffin hit 47% (26-55) from the field including 4 of 10 from behind the arc.

 
January 25 @ Urbana

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team dropped their second straight AMC game as they fell to Urbana University 51-49.  Delano Thomas and Antwain Lavender led the Bears with 10 points apiece.  Thomas added 13 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks.   Jarrod Brumbaugh led Urbana with 14 points.  Al Davenport added 10 points for the Blue Knights.  Shawnee State had an abysmal performance on the offensive end of the floor.  The Bears connected on just 18 of 59 field goal attempts for 31%.  They hit just 5 of 24 attempts from behind the arc for 21%.  They were just 8 of 18 from the free throw line for 44%.

 
January 23 @ Ohio Dominican

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 22nd in NAIA Division II, dropped an AMC South match-up to Ohio Dominican 72-64.  Antwain Lavender was the only Bear to score in double figures.  He led all scorers with 26 points on 10 of 20 shooting, including 3 of 8 from behind the 3-point line.  Terrance Davison and Adam Davenport had 8 points apiece.  Eric Jenkins led ODU with 18 points on the night.  Micah Stith had 15 points.  Mike Lee and Mike Feibig added 12 points each.  The game was won at the free throw line as each team connected on 25 of 61 field goal attempts for 41%.  ODU, however, hit 16 of 22 attempts from the free throw line.  SSU attempted just 14 foul shot and connected on just 7 of those for an abysmal 50%. 

 
January 21 vs. Rio Grande

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 22nd in NAIA Division II, defeated The University of Rio Grande 69-52.  Antwain Lavender led all scorers with 27 points on 9 of 21 shooting, including 6 of 8 from behind the arc.  Adam Davenport had 13 points and 11 rebounds.  Terrance Davison added 10 points.   Delano Thomas had 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots.  Chris Ballenger led Rio Grande with 14 points.  Nat Moles added 11 points.  Shawnee State out rebounded Rio 45-36 on the evening.  The Bears shot 42% from the field while holding Rio Grande to 38% shooting.  

 
January 18 @ Malone

The Shawnee State University Men's Basketball Team, ranked 16th in NAIA Division II, snapped a 3-game skid as they knocked off AMC foe, Malone College 88-82.  Curt Grimes led the Bears with a career high 29 points on 11 of 15 shooting from the field, including 7 of 9 from behind the arc.  Jeff Fraley had 13 points.  Antwain Lavender, Adam Davenport, and Delano Thomas added 11 points apiece.  Thomas added 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.  Tim LaFleur and Jason Hess had 21 points each for the Pioneers.  As a team, the Bears shot 51% from the field including 40% from beyond the 3-point line.  The Pioneers connected on 48% of their shots including 37% from behind the arc.  Shawnee State jumped out to a quick 21-9 lead before Malone would rally to take a 45-43 lead at half.  The teams would battle back and forth until the 6:01 mark, when SSU went ahead to stay.  The Bears took the lead 74-72 on an Antwain Lavender 3-pointer.

 
January 16 vs. Georgetown

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 16th in NAIA Division II, fell to the #1 ranked Georgetown College Tigers, 86-63.  Jeff Fraley led the Bears with 19 points as he knocked down 5 of 7 shots from beyond the 3-point line.  Curt Grimes added a season-high 16 points.  Antwain Lavender had 11 points and 8 assists. Quinton Bailey led all scorers with 21 points.  Andre Mahorn added 19 points for the Tigers.  Casey Alsop chipped in 18 points. As a team, the Bears shot just 37% from the field compared to 52% for Georgetown.  The Tigers out rebounded the Bears 39-35.  Shawnee State committed 20 turnovers and Georgetown capitalized by scoring 24 points off those miscues.

 
January 14 vs. Wilberforce

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 16th in NAIA Division II, lost to Wilberforce University 81-76 in non-conference play.  Jeff Fraley led the Bears with 27 points and 11 rebounds.  Antwain Lavender added 16 points.  Curt Grimes had 13 points on the night.  The Bears played without starting center Adam Davenport who is out with an ankle injury. Vincent Hamilton led Wilberforce with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 blocks.  Helie White added 15 points for the Bulldogs. Shawnee State out rebounded Wilberforce 48-36 in the contest.  However, the Bulldogs shot 48% from the field compared to the Bears’ 39%.  Shawnee State committed 20 turnovers compared to just 11 for Wilberforce. 

 
January 11 @ Walsh

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team fell to the Cavaliers of Walsh University for their first conference loss on Saturday afternoon.  Walsh defeated Shawnee 78-69.  Jeff Fraley led the Bears with 22 points on 5 of 11 three-point shooting.  Terrance Davison added 18 points and Delano Thomas chipped in with 12 points and 10 rebounds. J.R. Ogletree led Walsh with 28 points on 11 of 13 free throw shooting.  Jason Hamilton added 23 points for the Cavaliers. For the game Walsh shot 45%(26-57) from the field compared to Shawnee’s 32%(21-65). Walsh also won the battle on the boards out rebounding Shawnee 44-39.  The Bears forced 17 Cavalier turnovers, while only committing 14.  

 
January 7 vs. Mt. Vernon

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 14th in NAIA Division II, defeated the 21st ranked Mt. Vernon Nazarene Cougars 99-88.  Antwain Lavender led all scorers with26 points on 9 of 16 shooting.  He was 7 of 7 from the free throw line.  Jeff Fraley and Terrance Davison scored 19 points apiece.  Delano Thomas had 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks.  Adam Davenport added 10 points.  Andy Dunn led Mt. Vernon with 21 points.  Anthony Delimpo had 20 points and 9 rebounds.  As a team, the Bears shot 57.6% (34-59) from the field.  SSU scored 18 points off of 13 Mt. Vernon turnovers.  Mt. Vernon shot an impressive 47% from the field.  The Bears led by 16 with 5:00 remaining.  The lead would be cut to 3 with 2:30 left in the game.  Shawnee State would preserve the victory by hitting 11 of their next 12 free throw attempts as Mt. Vernon began fouling.

 
January 6 vs. OU-Southern

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, blitzed OU-Southern 98-42.  Brock Pistole led the Bears with a career-high 19 points.  He also grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds.   Antwain Lavender and Richard Montague had 16 points apiece.  Mike Frazier added a career-high 15 points.  Max Hunter led the Trailblazers with 9 points and 13 rebounds.  Eddie Dawson had 11 points and 7 rebounds.  As a team, the Bears shot 51% from the field, including 47% from behind the arc.  The Bears out rebounded OU-Southern 56-33.  SSU’s defense forced 16 turnovers and held OUS to 28% shooting on the night.  Shawnee State jumped out to a 33-0 lead early in the game.  Terrance Davison was the only SSU starter to play more than 11 minutes.

 
January 4 @ Tiffin

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, defeated Tiffin University 75-59.  Shawnee State held a 34-27 halftime lead.  The Bears went on a 15-4 run to start the second period and held a 49-31 lead at the 15:00 mark.  Tiffin would cut the Bears' lead all the way down to 3 with 8:00 remaining in the game.  Jeff Fraley hit 3-pointers on two of SSU's next three possessions to expand the Bears' lead.  Shawnee State's defense kicked in and allowed the Dragons to score just 3 points, all on fee throws, over the final 8:03.  Fraley led all scorers with 25 points on 8 of 10 shooting, including 7 of 9 from behind the arc.  Adam Davenport had 17 points.  Delano Thomas added 12 points and 17 rebounds.  Antwain Lavender chipped in 10 points and 7 assists.  As a team, the Bears shot 53% from the field.  They hit 55% from three point land.  SSU out rebounded Tiffin 36-28.

 
December 28 vs. OU-Chillicothe (@ Rio Grande)

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, whipped OU-Chillicothe 114-55.  Richard Montague led all scorers with a career-high 23 points.  Terrance Davison chipped in 20 points.  Delano Thomas added his 3rd double-double in four games with 15 points and 11 rebounds.  Antwain Lavender had 12 points and 8 assists.  Brock Pistole recorded career-highs in points (11) and rebounds (10).

 
December 19 vs. Ohio Dominican

Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, defeated Ohio Dominican University 78-64.  Adam Davenport led all scorers with 20 points.  He added 11 rebounds and 3 assists.  Antwain Lavender 18 points on six 3-pointers.  Terrance Davison had 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Delano Thomas fell one block shy of a triple-double.  He had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 blocked shots.  He also tallied 2 assists and 2 steals.  Micah Stith led ODU with 18 points on the night.  Mike Lee and Eric Jenkins had 12 points apiece.  Mike Feibig added 11 points.  As a team, the Bears shot 48.5% (33-68) from the field.  They out rebounded the Panthers 44-38. Shawnee State trailed by as much as 10 in the first half of play.  The game went back and forth during the first six minutes of the second half before the Bears pulled away. 

 
December 17 @ Campbellsville

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, defeated Campbellsville University 86-83.  The game was tied at 22 in the first half when CU went on a 20-2 run. SSU then went on an 11-4 run to trail 46-35 at the half. Jason Burston nailed a 3-pointer as time expired to cap the comeback for the Bears.  Antwain Lavender led all scorers with 23 points on the night. Adam Davenportand Burston finished with 15 points apiece. Jeff Fraley added 12 points and Terrance Davison had 10 points for the Bears.

 
December 15 vs. OU-Chillicothe

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, defeated a surprisingly pesky OU-Chillicothe team 92-81.  Antwain Lavender led the Bears with 34 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals on the afternoon.  Adam Davenport had 19 points and 6 rebounds.  Terrance Davison chipped in with 11 points and 6 boards. Chris Adkins led the Hilltoppers with 25 points.  Dave Cochenour added 23 points, with 20 of those coming in the first half.  The game was tied at 42 at the half, with OU-Chillicothe connecting on 58% of their field goals in the first period.  The Bears shot a very respectable 47%.  In the second period, the rolls reversed.  SSU shot 60% in the second period and held the Hilltoppers to 48%.  For the game, each team shot 53% from the field.  

 
December 13 @ Youngstown State
The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, dropped an 84-69 decision to NCAA Division I Youngstown State.  Antwain Lavender led the short-handed Bears with 27 points on the night. Adam Davenport chipped in with 21 points and 12 rebounds.  TeJay Anderson and Adam Bauman led Youngstown with 13 points apiece.  Despite playing without starters Andre Horton and Curt Grimes, Shawnee State was locked in a 36-36 tie at halftime. Youngstown’s depth and size took over in the second half. YSU shot 55.2% from the field in the second period, with the majority of those baskets came in the paint. YSU held a 46-20 advantage on points scored in the paint.
 
December 10 @ Bluefield State
The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, lost to NCAA Division II Bluefield State 76-7.  Jeff Fraley led the Bears with 28 points on 10 of 20 shooting, including 8 of 16 from behind the 3-point line. Terrance Davison had 13 points and 6 rebounds. Antwain Lavender scored a season-low 11 points on the night. Curt Grimes added 10 points for the Bears.  All five starters for Bluefield scored in double figures. Jerrod Patterson led the way with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Marcus Clements had 16 points, and Carlos VanHook added 13 points. James Redd and Terry Blount had 10 points apiece.  As a team, the Bears connected on just 28 of 70 attempts from the field for 40%.  They connected on just 8 of 31 attempts from behind the arc for 25.8%.  Bluefield connected on 31 of 63 attempts for 49.2%, including 5 of 9 from 3-point land for 55.5%.
 
December 7 vs. Walsh
Shawnee State University, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, knocked off defending AMC Champion, Walsh University 71-69.   Terrance Davison's 16-foot jumper with only 2.8 seconds remaining gave the Bears the 2-point lead. It was just Davison's second basket in the game.  He finished 2 of 10 on the evening.  J. R. Ogletree's desperation shot from half court as time expired clanged off the back of the iron.  Four Bears reached double figures in the game.  Antwain Lavender led the squad with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Adam Davenport had 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Jeff Fraley had 15 points and Curt Grimes added 12 points.  Walsh’s Jason Hamilton led all scorers with 24 points on the day.  Lee Greer had 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Rhys Tucker added 10 points.
 
November 27 vs. Urbana

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 8th in NAIA Division II, defeated Urbana University 77-52 in their AMC opener.  Antwain Lavender led the Bears with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists on the night.  Jeff Fraley had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Adam Davenport had 10 points and 11 boards.  Curt Grimes had 12 points and Terrance Davidson added 10 points to put all Bears starters in double figures.  Nilzarrel Townsend was the only Blue Knight to hit double figures, as he scored 15 points.  As a team, the Bears shot 42.9% (27 of 63) from the field including just 33.3% (7 of 21) form beyond the arc.  The Bears out-rebounded Urbana 45-41.   

 
November 24 @ Miami-Hamilton
The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 8th in NAIA Division II, defeated Miami-Hamilton 108-67.  Terrance Davison led the Bears with a career-high 25 points.  He also grabbed 7 rebounds. Antwain Lavender added 21 points and 4 assists. Adam Davenport nearly had a double-double with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Charles Gray had 14 points while Curt Grimes and Jeff Fraley had 10 points apiece.
 
November 19 @ Cincinnati Bible

Shawnee State defeated Cincinnati Bible College 94-64. Andre Horton led the Bears with 32 points on the night. He shot 13 of 22 from the field including 5 of 11 from behind the 3-point line. Adam Davenport  and Charles Gray added 10 points apiece.  As a team, the Bears shot 37 of 68 from the field for 54.4%. They connected on 10 of 15 (40%) attempts from behind the arc. The Bears held Cincinnati Bible to 38% shooting from the field.

 
November 16 @ Wilberforce
Shawnee State, ranked 8th in NAIA Division II, defeated Wilberforce University 84-80 on Saturday evening.  Antwain Lavender led the Bears with 27 points on the night. Lavender was 8 of 16 from the field including 5 of 10 from behind the 3-point line. He was a perfect 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Andre Horton had 25 points and Jeff Fraley added 18 points on the night.  As team the Bears hit on 27 of 61 attempts (44.3%) from the field, including 16 of 40 attempts from behind the arc. They hit of 14 of 15 attempts from the charity stripe.  Shawnee State trailed by as much as 15 during the first half and by 9 in the second half. The Bears did not take the lead in the second half until the 2:06 mark, when a free throw by Andre Horton put them on top 79-78. Jeff Fraley’s 3-pointer with 1:24 remaining put the Bears on top to stay at 82-80.  Donald Oatis led Wilberforce with 20 points. Vincent Hamilton added 18 points and 10 rebounds.
 
November 13 @ OSU-Lima
Shawnee State opened the 2002-2003 season with a 101-78 win over OSU-Lima.  Antwain Lavender scored 23 points and Andre Horton added 22 points in the win.  Adam Davenport had 15 points and 13 rebounds and Terrance Davison added 13 points in his collegiate debut.
